“Our server Brent was absolutely amazing! Everything about this place was a 10/10 experience for us! The food was incredible, the vibes were amazing, the drinks were so good! It is a little nerve wracking to get there but look past it because it was 100% worth it! I got the Chimichurri flank steak (YUM!) and my husband got the braised short rib with grits (ALSO YUM) we don’t usually share food but it was too good not to share! Portions are great sizes!”

“Such a cool place! Enter the doorway for this hidden gem and follow the mural up stairs to this great restaurant. Pick your level of spicy/nonspicy - staff is wonderful with great advice. Their freshly prepared panang curry is probably the best I’ve ever tasted, and loaded with plump shrimp cooked to perfection.”

“We really enjoyed our recent visit at Anejo! On a Friday at lunch time we were able to get seated right away and got brought out very fresh chips and salsa. The waiters/waitresses were very much on top of making sure if we needed anything at all. Stopped by several times to ask if we needed a drink refill which I really appreciated! When the food came out it was in very big portions, hot, and delicious! I also got a side of Pico de Gallo and it was very good. The atmosphere was very nice as well. Felt very relaxed and I enjoyed the fact I could hear the music but didn’t have to talk over the music. Overall, I would highly recommend and would come here again.”

“I have been eating at New Dragon on N. Main St. a few times a week since arriving in JAX. Pipping hot delicious foods, cheap too. Because they were closed on Mondays, I found Chan’s today. The guy who took the order was great and the food was ready fast. But the food was mediocre at the best. Also, their dry & crumbly white rice was the strangest rice that I’ve ever had. I won’t be going back.”

“The birria taco was the star. I jokingly call it the Mexican French dip and really it is. Nothing really wowed me. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was nice that included a salsa bar. No real notable salsas that typically kept me eating endless chips. The lengua taco was ok too. The esquites I would avoid at all costs since it really tasted like canned corn with mayo. Not the typical charred goodness you would get that really adds a smoky flavor. My partner got the carne asada plate which she was not very pleased at all. It was tough and hard to cut with knife and fork. I will probably back to give them another shot but not right away.”

“Great food, great Customer service. Portions were satisfying, even for my extremely shallow pockets. The atmosphere is calm, but joyous. Great place for family. I was especially shocked to see a Complete, and clean restroom.. Yes, Complete, with a child changing station, which some do not have. Their water cup is larger than the usual, and their salad is so awesome. Never had one like that. The "Salsa" was the best I have had in a loooong while. Tasty food, Yum! Your family will enjoy "5 de Mayo".”
