“A brilliant little French restaurant. The waitresses were cheerful and helpful (even with our terrible French). The beef tartare and scallops were perfect. We couldn't fit dessert but they looked awesome too! And not at all expensive (1 entree, 2 mains and 2 drinks 56eur)”

“Great hospitality and atmosphere, fine dining and savoury wines - how not to recommend! We went mid-week for dinner and the best options in my opinion are sharing platters like. A nice selection of wine to accompany. The host is friendly, respectful and accomodating - worth being emphasized as I haven't seen this level often! Prices are average and higher on the wine list but are equal to the quality of the service and food.”

“The restaurant is fairly typical, with gingham tablecloths. The Limousin cuisine is well represented on the plates (calf's head with gribiche sauce is very good). I'd also recommend a country terrine and chocolate mousse, served as often as you like. All in all, Alphonse's is good and not too expensive.”

We had delicious pizzas but I want to say how great the waiting staff were - despite a long journey to and from the passe, with all tables occupied, they were all friendly, helpful and smiling.”
