“One of the best long lasting family establishments in the area. NEVER had a bad meal in over 6 years that we have been coming here. Staff is always friendly and attentive. Prices are very reasonable. Daily food specials for lunch and dinner. Highly recommend checking them out. But if my husband and I walk in the door make some room 🤣🤣”

“The atmosphere was inviting, the food was delicious and the service was excellent. I had the avocado toast along with veggie omelette and fresh orange juice. Unfortunately, they served the toast to me quite burnt but I simply ate around the burnt parts. Overall a very good experience and I would recommend visiting for breakfast.”

“If you’re looking for top notch food and a great atmosphere, look no further. Oceans has it all from appetizers, drinks, amazing entrees and desserts. The oysters are a great start and taste incredible. The whole red snapper, grilled over their wood fire, is the best in Birmingham. The owner, George, came around checking on the food which meant a lot, considering how busy the restaurant was. All of the staff was very helpful in anything we needed, and Chris made it a fun experience.”

“If I could give more stars for atmosphere I would… this is a very comfortable space and it accommodates a lot of tables without feeling crowded. There are multiple dining rooms and the one we were in was magnificent. We loved the floor to ceiling shelves that were used to store the wine and the stone walls. The service was good and we appreciated the relaxed pace. We started with the lobster ravioli and baby shrimp appetizer and split the arugula salad. The salad was very fresh and the portion is more appropriate for 1 person. They also have delicious bread and butter. For wine, we were recommended the Romeo by the owner and it was perfect! For my entree I got the VITELLO DELLA NONNA and it was one of the best meals of my life! They were out of a few dessert options but we were pleased with the cappuccino gelato that we split! We can’t wait to go back. This is a great place to celebrate special moments or to impress guests.”

“I understand that canned mushrooms are cheaper, but they must also understand that canned mushrooms release water when pizza is cooking, which probably explains my super soggy Supreme pizza. Also, pizza too salty and canoli tasted like was fried in old oil.”

“Yummy yummy yummy 😋 I got the veggie sandwich (add avocado), the bread is crunchy and perfect. The veggies are delightful (could use a touch of seasoning). My tiny cup of sauce (needed like 4) paired well for added flavor. The sweet plantains were great. Got my order quick and it was still very warm.”

“I'll start off by saying ours was a large group. The wait was horrible. While the drinks and apps didn't appear to take too long, the main course took forever. They were smart to bring the kids' food first, but they took so long to get the rest out, the kids were done and already aching to leave bc of the boredom. When food started coming, the dishes were brought to the table so far apart in time that some people in the party had completely consumed their main course before others even got theirs. I had a bit of the skirt steak and it was ok, mushrooms in the sauce are from a can, not fresh. The octopus was really bad, it was hard, I did not finish it. Do NOT order the octopus. Stuffed mofongo was dry. The only folks who seemed to be ok with their food were the ones who got stuffed chicken. Based on the time it took for us to get our food, we thought we would order ice cream for the kids early. Don't know what happened to it, but others got their desserts (which were ordered later) first. Absolutely no control or reason in this delivery. We had also ordered some coffee and it was taking so long that we ended up cancelling the order. Couldn't get out of there fast enough once we were able to. Never again.”

His friendly wife Tina runs the front of the house and is a terrific baker. The fig torte was fantastic and we loved the limoncello, an old family recipe. We had a great time and look forward to going back.”

“Stopped by for some amala and ewedu. It was the end of the day so they were out of a few things but service was friendly. Restaurant is small but clean and prices are decent. The amala was quite tasty and the meat was not too tough as is typical with most Naija spots.”
