“Eaten at the Fisherman's Retreat with my Fiancee today for the First time, We went for Breakfast. We have always known about the excellent reputation that the Fisherman's Retreat has and we were not disappointed. Lovely warm welcome we were seated in front of the huge windows overlooking the beautiful countryside. For Drinks my Fiancee ordered a Cappuccino and I ordered a Flat white which was honestly one of the nicest Cappuccino and Coffee we had ever had. For Breakfast my Fiancee ordered a Full English breakfast minus the Black pudding and haggis, I ordered the large Full English breakfast which came with 3 Sausages, 3 Bacon, Potatoe rosti, Baked beans, Grilled Tomatoes, Grilled Mushrooms, Black pudding topped with haggis and a rack of toast and butter. Honestly the breakfast was absolutely amazing Fantastic quality ingredients, Great quality Sausages and bacon, Potatoe Rosti was amazing again it was my first time having Potatoe Rosti it was really nice. Service was absolutely fantastic, Food was amazing, Beautiful setting looking over the hills towards Ramsbottom and Peel Tower. We highly recommend the Fisherman's Retreat. 5☆”

“Platzki is a restaurant worth recommending. Authentic Polish food. I was surprised how many flavours of vodka they offer. My favourite two were Pistachio and Hazelnut. The kitchen closes at 9pm so I would recommend to arrive before 8:30pm. They only offer desserts after 9pm.”

“Was our first time here and absolutely loved it! The service was great, lots of gluten free options and they checked with me what I could have which I appreciated. Very friendly and helpful. The food was amazing we ordered lots of tapas, especially the halloumi and sweet potato dish👌🏼 Will definitely be returning again with friends. Was very happy with everything and highly recommend to everyone”

“Second time at this place, we came here for dinner. The place is nicely decorated and reminds you of Spain. As we came on a Saturday night, the place was fairly busy and a little bit noisy (but less than other places in the city). The staff was either neutral or nice. The experience could be much better if it wasn't for the food, which is what you crave for when dining out. We ordered seafood paella, croquetas, shrimps, patatas bravas and a vegetable tapas with mushrooms. Everything was decent/ok, the paella had zero taste. I also tried the seafood alone and it actually tasted bad. Maybe it was just a busy night, but they could definitely do a better job.”

“After endless recommendations I finally came here for a Sunday Roast. From the first moment we arrived, to the moment we left, the staff were very kind and helpful. The restaurant was very modern and clean where you can tell the team care about presentation. A decent drinks selection with wine recommendations for each roast. The beef and the lamb were cooked to perfection and the portions are deceptively large! You will definitely be full and happy after you finish eating. The gravy was amazing and you definitely get plenty (as you would expect up north) It was so tasty.”

“I have to be honest, Service was poor. Kept sending food and drinks to different tables. Starter was tasty but Luke warm at best. Mains was a Duck pasta, Duck was in cubes and pasta was undercooked. Sweets selection is poor so didn't bother. Don't mind paying for quality, but this wasn't it unfortunately.”

“Delicious food, excellent, timely and friendly service, pleasant, modern, well kept decor. Clean and tidy. Do not hesitate to try this place out!!! We found this gem by googling local restaurants on a day out. Really glad we did and we will certainly visit again if we are in the area. It's Turkish/Bulgarian/Mediterranean cuisine. The tapas was delicious with some proprietary dishes. The squid was some of the best I've ever eaten (calamari - not at all chewy, melt in the mouth yumminess). The baklava, as recommended by our waiter, was to die for. The cakes in the cupboard looked amazing. I had the Belgian fudge cake and it was as good as it looked. The decor was great, with some.nice art on sale... even the toilets were well presented and the hand driers effective. 10/10!!!”

“It was our first time in this cafe. Service was great, however I noticed some members of stuff sounded like we bothered them by asking the question. Nevertheless stuff was polite and friendly. We were asked if our food was all right throughout our stay and if we needed anything else. I ordered chicken wraps and egg Florentine. My egg Florentine was a bit blunt. Also I found some crunchy bits inside, which therefore put me from finishing the rest. Chicken wraps were absolutely beautiful. I will be back, as the rest of the food and overall service was good. 4*”

“I've been coming to Jas Jas Jas for years but had a really disappointing experience today (6th July 2023) and had to leave an honest review. I purchased a large vegetarian box for £9.50 and the portion size given was even smaller than the medium box. When I mentioned this to the server they got defensive saying that it is only 6 items per portion; 6 items is fine but the quantity of each item given was not a fair portion. No empathy was shown or resolution offered and I left feeling disrespected and ripped off. Picture below versus a large meat box (£11.50) which includes the pot of salad. The food itself is good, but the vegetarian portion size needs to be fairer before I consider going back”
