“I recently had the opportunity to visit Shiraz Bar and Restaurant in Gatwick, London, and I wanted to share my thoughts about the experience. Overall, I found the place to be decent, with some highs and lows. Let's start with the positives. The prices at Shiraz Bar and Restaurant were quite reasonable, which was definitely a pleasant surprise. I particularly enjoyed their lamb Shiah dish; it was flavorful and cooked to perfection. However, I must admit that the rest of the menu fell a bit short of my expectations, resulting in an average culinary experience. Where the restaurant truly excelled was in providing a delightful atmosphere and exceptional service. The staff members were attentive, friendly, and efficient, ensuring that I felt welcomed throughout my visit. Their promptness in taking orders and their warm and accommodating demeanor added a positive touch to the overall dining experience. While the food might not have been outstanding, I would still recommend Shiraz Bar and Restaurant to those who value a pleasant ambiance and excellent customer service. With a bit more focus on the culinary aspect, this place has the potential to become a real gem. In conclusion, if you find yourself in Gatwick and in need of a restaurant with a friendly and efficient staff, Shiraz Bar and Restaurant is worth considering. Just be aware that the food might not leave a lasting impression.”

“This place always delivers ! The food is very tasty and always tastes fresh. As opposed to other similar cuisine restaurants, I never leave this place feeling bloated or unwell, the food is filling but light. Quite pricey but worth it. Staff attentive and very lovely. Make sure to book in advance for a Saturday evening at least.”

“Someone should let the chef know that adding a coriander leaf to the top of a fish does not make it a Thai dish. Same goes for the crying tiger beef. It was nice enough, I suppose, but very plain. They have 80odd menu items, always a bad sign, there's no way everything can be made fresh. My starter soup contained rubbery, from frozen squid. Unpleasant.”

“Very disappointed at our visit today. We have gone many times - my mum, my little brother and I, to have lunch. We always order the same - the Cajun chicken wrap with a portion of chips and a pint of lemonade, no salad. We went this time and sat and ordered straight away, and my mum expressed how we last came a while ago (as she had been ill a lot recently). We were told the wraps had changed but we’d love it and it was just that the sauce was more mixed in. So we placed our order as normal, not really understanding the sauce comment and thinking maybe a while ago the sauce used to be separate. We placed all orders no avocado, 2/3 orders with no salad and one of those with no crisps, one with salad and crisps. We received all 3 wraps with salad inside of the wraps (where there never used to be before and where this is NOT detailed on the menus, we were also not informed of this when they said about changes or asked to specify when we said no salad). The wraps were 70% salad and room temperature - not even warm. The chips were hotter and brought out first. The staff saw us picking at food and asked if all was okay with the meal and my mum said she was very disappointed as we weren’t told there would be salad in the wraps and had asked for no salad on two of the orders. In response, the male staff replied “Oh, I’m sorry to hear about that. We’ll remember you for next time” and never offered any solution or consolation for the issues. They also had to take my mum’s order back as it was wrong and she wasn’t given salad on the side where hers was a normal order. We have gone so many times over the last year/2 years and were so disappointed to see that the prices have gone up but the food is just being padded out with salad and less meat is now being included. £4.25 for what little portion of chips and almost £10 for a wrap that is mostly salad and a handful of crisps is awful. We also sat for a while waiting for plates to be cleared and were given the bill before all plates were even cleared. I will attach a picture of how filled the wraps used to be for comparison (the picture with the chicken satay on skewers in). If you want to know how many skewers you get for that price then hopefully that also helps you to see that it is only 3 small skewers for £9.75. That was a different disappointment from last year. To top it all off, I just want to add that my little brother (I say little, but he’s 17 now), has Asperger’s and it is the only place we can get him to go to eat out in public (as he usually loves the food and the only way to have it is to eat in). But after today’s visit he has expressed he does not want to go again as he felt the staff didn’t care and he felt very uncomfortable eating his food and having had to pick out the salad from his wrap. He even said that it is not worth it for the price being charged. He had even asked for mayo/ketchup and been ignored by staff who had asked if we wanted dips and not waited for the reply. This is very sad for us as a family as we never get to enjoy meals altogether, even at home, and now will not be eating as a family at the grumpy mole again. Very sad indeed. I would also like to add that the lack of a proper disability space is an issue every time we go. I have attached a picture so you can see the one space put down as the ‘disabled space’. It is just a normal space marked as a disabled bay, with no extra room either side.”

“Stunning interiors, absolutely gorgeous rustic village pub. Great parking space and great vibe the minute u walk in. However it's massively overpriced, menu is poor on top main courses sides are extra prices. Service isn't great and for this level of pricing, you would expect something extra. Food portions are tiny. Not a typical pub filling dishes. I was confused whether this was a village pub trying to strive as a pretentious Michelin restaurant. But achieved neither: not a good home cooked meal, definitely not a restaurant level. The owner needs to decide which direction to choose. 3 stars for interiors only. Great for a drink only. I have been to many local pubs and this one was the weakest.”

“8 minute walk from Courtyard Gatwick, this was the best Indian food Ive tried in London. butter chicken, saag paneer was all on point. Tasted way better than Dishoom and other places in London. I also tried their Goan Prawn Curry which was nice and spicy. Prices were so reasonable. 3 main dishes and 1 rice and 1 garlic naan for around 40 GBP. Amazing”

“I'm sorry to say that so far as value for money is concerned there's a massive NO..... I'd have done better at McDonald's. Two of us fancied a meal at what looked like a good pub eatery. Not living in the area, we didn't know what to expect by way of value for money. My wife wasn't particularly hungry so she ordered a bowl of soup. When it arrived, it was in a tiny jug. The sort of size you'd get milk served in a high class coffee shop. The jug was half full. So she asked for a bit more to top it up. That was £6.50. I ordered sausage and mash. 3 barely cooked sausages, desert spoon of mash, some kind of cabbage, it looked like it had been under a grill because it had burned leaves. The cost of my meal amounted to £14.50.. 1Large coka cola £4.50 I know businesses are under pressure, but this was ridiculous.”

“We enjoyed a very pleasant lunch here. The service was quick and all the staff were friendly and inviting. The menu provided something for everyone and our whole group left highly satisfied with their meals. The dauphinois potato’s we’re so crispy on top yet rich and creamy underneath. All the meat we ordered was well cooked and moist and accompanied with deep flavourful sauces. We would certainly recommend a visit here.”
