Via dei Lanaioli, 30, 59100 Prato PO, Italy

“Best pizza I've ever eaten. Greatly exceeded my expectations and the prices were very reasonable (8-10€). Kind staff, managed to get along with them even though they couldn't speak English. It's best if you make a reservation before dining here, as it can get really crowded at night. This was definitely the highlight of my stay in Prato.”

“Such a great experience! Lovely staff, amazing food and wines too and even more to discover!I suggest to all of you to pay a visit to this restaurant if you are in town. Few minutes away by foot from the city main church, near the secondary train station named "porta al serraglio", easily reachable from florence with a train ride. So what else? Go there! Bonus: ask for homemade Limoncello!”

Via Giuseppe Garibaldi, 148, 59100 Prato PO, Italy

“The food was alright, but not worth going there about anything else. They charged for service they didn't provide us that they clearly provided other tables. Despite being the first table for the day, we were often ignored and had to wait to be seated, to order and to pay as the waitress answered the restaurant's phone, then her own cell before acknowledging us. We spoke and were replied to in English. We ordered off the Italian menu, because we thought that they might not have an English menu (because we aren't so entitled to demand English in a small town in Italy), but later 2 tables of (white) English-speaking folk sat down and were immediately offered the English menu rather than left with the Italian one. When confronted about this later, when we were paying, the waitress insisted that the English menu was out dated- but then why offer the other tables the menu? We clearly spoke English as well, much better than Italian. We had difficulty ordering as the waitresses never stuck around, not even waiting for us to finish our sentence before walking away. Perfectly fine hearing for all the other tables- heard them ask if there was anything else they wanted- just not us. Wished we hadn't sat for 2 courses, just glad we didn't order dessert. Other tables were served bread after they ordered, or some just after they sat down - but ours never appeared after sitting there for over an hour. Trying to pay took over 10 mins, and not even any acknowledgement. We gave up waiting and walked to the counter in case it was that sort of establishment- then had to wait as all 4 waitstaff were involved in an argument with a guy (only 2 which actually spoke, the rest just seemed to be there for spectatorship). None of them acknowledged us despite catching the eye of some, and the argument took a few minutes. Despite being advertised as tourist friendly, this was most definitely unfriendly and when confronted with this stark double standard the waitress became angry. Pah, I'm happy to pay (and have paid up to x3 what they charged) for service when I've actually got some. It wasn't the money, but the attitude.”

Trattoria Lapo

P.za Mercatale, 141, 59100 Prato PO, Italy

“Wonderful find! Perfect food and a reasonable price. The primis were amazing - highly recommend the spinach ricotta tortellini and almost as good was the cauliflower, bean soup! The rabbit was tastefully garnished with olives and capers. The half bottle Chianti was the perfect size and of course we tried the tiramisu to end things.”
