“Decided to do something different for my wife on her on birthday, so I decided to take her on a lunch cruise. The experience was different and great the only reason for 4stars is due to the lunch portion and also a little bland sides. …”

“So disappointed in how poorly run this livery is. We had a group of 7 reserve kayaks on Labor Day. Nobody checked our IDs when we checked-in, so anyone could have said they were a part of our reservation. The front desk gave us a paper to hold onto and give back at the end of our trip to ensure everyone was off the river before closing. There was no safety discussion with their customers and no mention that the river water levels were so low that you had to carry your kayaks/canoes across rocks at certain areas of the river - I live near Hocking so I wasn't shocked since I knew there hadn't been a lot of rain - but for anyone that traveled would have had no idea of the river conditions. A 2-3 hour trip took us 5 hours to get through because the water was so low. While the livery cannot control water conditions, they can control the communication to customers about this. We reached the end of the trip at 5pm and were greeted with no one. There was no one down by the river exit to help people get their kayaks/canoes/tubes out of the water. It was clear that no one had been working that area for a while because it was so backed up that our group couldn't reach the bank to dock. The photo I've attached shows only 1/3 of all the equipment left by the river. There were empty kayaks and canoes floating down the river because it was so crowded. Our group had to crawl over kayaks and canoes just to get to the bank. I'm shocked that this livery thinks it's acceptable to close early and let customers fend for themselves. When we reached the office and saw it was closed, we realized there was literally no one there to ensure their customers had exited the river safely and that everyone was accounted for. What's the point in giving people the paper at the beginning of the trip if there's no one there to collect it at the end? Someone who wasn't a part of our group was panicking because the office had held his car keys while he was on the water and he had no way to get them back since the office was closed and there were no employees around to assist. I've been kayaking more times than I can count and I've never experienced such carelessness in regards to their customer's safety. I'll take my business to Fox's livery and avoid this mess in the future.”

Juney Whank Falls

Juney Whank Falls Trail, Bryson City, NC 28713, United States

“A nice small set of falls up a steep slope This site can be reached by 2 different methods. Our navigation app took us the more difficult way which was a rock/dirt road that went over the hill. I would suggest looking for the paved alternate route and taking that one. I highly recommend taking the well-paved part for everyone. Parking is limited in the parking lot that is at the trailhead for the falls. This location leads to several trails and at least 2 falls that are a short hike: Juney Whank and Tom Creek. Juney Whank is only about 0.2 miles but it is up a steep winding slope. There is a turnoff to the right that takes you down to a small bridge that puts you right in front of (and very close to) the falls. The falls are not really high but it is a nice view both looking up and down from the bridge. If you continue across the bridge up the trail, you will come to a divide in the trail. The one going down will take you to another set of falls (Tom Creek falls) and back to the parking area via a large and wide road. I would recommend this site for people interested in falls but a little expectation management on this. It is not a large set of falls and some visitors might be underwhelmed.”

“I love this place. The large tour rafts launch from there. The water is calm where they board the rafts but just a short distance the rapids start. Oh my goodness.”

“Cody made the experience unforgettable! I brought my six year old to go for his first time and Cody entertained his never ending chatter (that some people would be super annoyed by), he helped accommodate for my son starting to feel freezing and getting upset, and he just really went out of his way to make sure everyone had a fantastic time! I couldn’t have asked for a better guide for my son’s first time rafting! Thank you so much Cody and Alpine Adventures for being so amazing!”
