“Visited this place last Friday when looking for a quick lunch. I love a gourmet burger and these guys did it so well. I had the spicy burger and it wasn't just a squeeze of hot sauce in a regular burger, they had clearly thought about the ingredients and it was really outstanding. Also a great range of beers, in their red and black varieties as well as the classic blonde. Service was also top. Easy to recommend this place!”

“We stayed here while attending a wedding on the island. For a 4 star hotel, we and friends were surprised they did not have any irons available, but expected people to use their paid laundry service. We planned to iron our folded clothing when we arrived, but the price to do so would be the price of purchasing an iron ourselves. (When I pointed this out, and to his credit, the receptionist arranged for our clothing to be ironed for free). The room was nice, but smaller than I expected for a 4-star, and disappointing that they use un-environmentally friendly flimsy, disposable plastic cups. Also, the 10am check out is too early, and although you can get served breakfast until 10:30am, they rushed us off after we got our breakfast, seemingly more interested in finishing up their morning routine than customer satisfaction.”

“This place is simply incredible. We ordered a sampler for the table and were blown away by everything. Five different dishes as well as a dessert dish and everything was fantastic. Seven people in our party and we all agreed it was the best meal we’ve had in our 12 days in Europe so far. The prices were also the best we’ve had in Europe. €6 Old Fashioned and all the food you see in the pictures was a combined €50! Beyond that, the old fashioned’s were as good as any I’ve had in the US.”

“All very good, fixed menu 8 euros, I was already full with the starters which included mixed fried fish with croquettes and panelle chips, sandwiches with spleen, bruschetta with tomato and foccaccia-sfincione. The pizzas are delicious, well seasoned and crunchy on the edge but you can't eat them in full given the initial appetizer😂. It's just a shame that given how many people go there, they would need a little more space and they would be perfect.”

“I have known the place for several years but only in the last year have I become a loyal customer. In fact, my boyfriend and I often go to this place to enjoy a rich, good quality aperitif, really plentiful and in fact we never manage to finish it all! At a cost of €15 per person (cover charge is also included) you can enjoy an excellent platter, accompanied by a drink of your choice between spritz, glass of wine, soft drink or mineral water. The aperitif includes an express first course (usually potato gnocchi), French fries, panelle and crocchè, fried pizzelle with pistachio pesto and mortadella, aubergine rolls, meatballs, mini potato gateau, sfincione, various cured meats and quests last time also a pan with potatoes and sausage... Truly irresistible! We like it a lot, it's plentiful and the food is very good. At Retrogusto you can also eat excellent pizza and hamburgers. Advised!”

“My worst experience in two visits to Palermo. Nice location, very attentive staff and food that I couldn't eat. the tasting menu consisted of several dishes and all of them were tasteless. the pasta with the octopus had a single dominant taste of fennel and nothing else, the fish meatball was nothing, and so on. We had to wait two hours for all the dishes, and it would be normal if we enjoyed the food, which was not the case. 140 euros for this dinner.”
