“The food here is very good. The coleslaw was flavorful with just the right amount of vinegar. The turkey, bacon, and cheddar was on toasted bread which makes all the difference. It also came with veggie straws which I don't care for. The service was pleasant and my food came quickly. The prices were ok, not high but not low either, pretty average. The latte was well made and very hot which was excellent. I would recommend this place if you are looking for a small town vibe with very nice people and delicious food.”

Gf & I were greeted by friendly server, made recommendations on the Bordy pizza, full order off onion rings to go! While we were waiting we were persuaded in trying the house salad, with homemade Creamy Italian dressing! The salad was amazing! When we got the food home we were amazed at the pizza, homemade crust no wonder this place is voted best pizza in Des Moines! Now their onion rings were amazing, glad we got the large! Definitely be back! Ps best damn leftover pizza I have ever had!”

My husband's Bacon Swiss Chicken sandwich was really good - he said as he's shoving it in his mouth 🤣 I wouldn't recommend the Philly cheese steak though. It came all "ground up" together which looking at it reminded me as if someone already chewed it up and then put it on a hoagie bun. NOT a fan. Didn't eat it after the first bite. “Mom & Pop diner. Comfort food. I had the Gyros Supreme. The food was great and the owner served us herself. The gyros tasted authentic (for Iowa, this is not Greece) and feta cheese, onions and tomatoes were included with the meal. The tzaziki sauce was homemade and good. The owners were friendly and personable. Greeted us coming in and thanked us as we left. They have been in business for over 15 years with a winning combination.”

Another man working there gruffly said "order soup over there" immediately. We ordered our soup and requested dinner rolls. The woman serving soup just pointed. No words, nothing. We had to determine where the rolls were and had no idea we needed to add them ourselves. NO CUSTOMER RESPECT. And then they had the audacity to ask for a tip. Here is one -- train your employees to be helpful.”

“Today we had lunch at Jersey's and it took an hour took about 30-40 minutes to receive the appetizer and another 30 minutes after that to receive the main course. I wish I could say this was due to a lunch rush but the restaurant was at maybe 25% capacity. My biggest disappointment was the lack of communication from staff on why it was taking so long it felt like our table was ignored until I locked eyes with the waitress and probably had a disconcerting look on my face. The reason for the delay was an apparent problem with the ability to cook our chicken fully. I appreciate not wanting to serve us under-cooked poultry, but when the meal finally came the meat was room temperature and didn't give us a overwhelming feeling of comfortably eating the food. The food tasted good I did eat it but with this review being so fresh this could be pending some unknown "after effects". My review bumps to a solid 4 if there would have been up front and honest communication from staff once they knew our meal would be delayed. If I was employed by a less flexible workplace I would have had to stand up and leave to ensure I got back from break on time without a meal. I've eaten here a few times before and must say this is apart from the usual so I would still encourage other patrons to try them out. Meal included - Pulled Pork Nachos (appetizer) 2 x Breaded Chicken Wrap (late entree) Children's cheeseburger slider meal.”

“I do feel bad for the town of McGregor this past year because of all the construction and road closure. I was impressed right off the bat at this restaurant at the interior as it looked really cool and had a nice atmosphere. The waitress was really great at first. Until she wasn't. We had 12 people in our group and one of them complained about one of the appetizers she ordered and from that point on she was annoyed with us. She literally argued with the customer about the dip. The chips had no seasoning and the bloody Mary was one of the worst I've ever had. The food was average and I probably would not go again.”
