“This experience reminded me why Brooklyn’s food scene is so special. I’ve never had Salvadoran food before, had no idea what to eat, so I went with the safe sounding Shrimp Diablo. I went to order chips and salsa as well when the owner asked if I’d ever had a pupusa. I had not so he flipped to the page in the menu and explained the options to me, listened to my feedback, and came up with the perfect one for me! It came out hot and steamy, very similar to an arepa but heartier. The shrimp diablo was absolutely delicious, so comforting, especially with those delicious beans on the side!”

“Paneantico is a neighborhood staple. Classic Italian baked goods, sandwiches and coffees. There's a large selection of everything. This place is always packed with locals. I love coming here for cookie platters for parties and it's a good place to pick up premade pizza dough. The chai latte are some of the best I've had in the neighborhood. I find the pastries to be more on the bready side than flaky. The outdoor dining area does have wait service so you can sit outside and avoid the line. Indoors the place is always packed and I find service to be a bit slow. There always seems to be people here day and night so it's a great meeting spot.”

“I don’t remember how I heard about this place but I finally made it and WOW this is definitely one of the most authentic and amazing Sicilian restaurant I have had so far! The panelle was cooked to perfection and served the right way with lemon only the rice ball was amazing and done right as well and the eggplant capunata was to die for I could eat it all day with the in house Italian bread that they make! I unfortunately went a little to late to get the swordfish but that just shows that they use the freshest fish and it’s delicious and runs out! I ended up with the chicken parm very delicious seasoned well my buddy got the lasagna and meatballs and I’m picky about lasagna when I love my mom’s recipe but this place was up there with hers it was fresh the sauce was amazing and they made it Sicilian style with peas and it was just amazing I can not wait to eat here again and try pretty much this whole menu it is definitely a spot you must try!”

“They recently renovated the place to a nice refreshing modern decor, and also changed their name to spice fifty two, but the service is terrible, all the people working there I just lazy, the time it takes for food to come out is crazy long, and once you get it it's pretty mediocre, especially the Chinese food is overly sweetened with sugar, so I guess renovating is not enough you need to up your service. But as most establishments that struggle they're not interested in listening to customers complaints as you can see most complaints on Google reviews are how long it takes for the food to come out, so when I did complain the guy just told me well it's only 25 minutes, it's a shame that for a little stupidity they invest heavy money in renovating without addressing the main issue, then they wonder why this establishment goes from one owner to the next.”

“Wife got tired of overpaying for underwhelming experiences at fancy restaurants, so after wondering in Prospect Park for hours, she wanted to go home and see what our fridge holds. I offered to find a reasonably priced place and found this little diner. Southwestern theme, lots of mexican dishes plus regular diner fare. Wife had nachos with chicken and I ordered some kind of burger with Russian dressing and selected to go with waffle fries (2.50$ extra) instead of regular fries. Portions were huge, we shared dishes and loved the food. No room for dessert, barely got up from the table as is. Friendly staff, waiter spoke english so he could explain the mexican menu to us. This is a small diner, with usual diner atmosphere, nothing special, nothing negative. All as expected. I appreciated no loud music blasting overhead, so we could relax and eat and talk. Definitely will come back again to try other tasty things.”

I saw this restaurant four years ago and always wanted to come but never did; so It was my first time coming here, and it was worth the wait.
