“I'm so glad we stopped in here for dinner last night and found this place on our quick trip to Vegas. My husband was craving pizza (we are both New Yorkers) and it was nice to run into fellow New Yorkers in Vegas. I highly recommend this place! We had their pepperoni pizza, garlic knots, cheesecake and tiramisu.....the eggplant Parmigiana was the best that I had since I left Long Island!!!! Can't say enough good about this place! Thank you for bringing back many childhood food memories from my 20 years on Long Island!!! Visit them, you won't be sorry, if you are looking for authentic NY Italian food!!!! “I normally love this place so much. But lately everything's changed. The atmosphere is horrible. They look angry or like they don't care. After I told them what meat I wanted they were so quickly to put the lid on it but normally they have other topping to put on. Once I got them to put the toppings on it I asked for the spicy sauce but then he put the cilantro sauce on it right away eventho that's not at all what I asked. Then when they put the garlic on it they put so much garlic that when I went home and took a bite it was a spoon full of garlic and I have the pictures to prove it. It was so bad and caused me to throw up. The sauce was bad. The garlic was too much, and they didn't even give me sushi rice. The worst bowl I've ever had. I couldn't even eat it cuz of the amount of garlic that is on it. I want someone to look at the image and tell me that it's normal to put that much garlic”

“Great little spot right in Boca Park. It’s a twist on Tex max and they do a very good job. It’s a restaurant bar combo. It’s casual and great for big or small groups and any age can come it with restrictions. The protein bowl was excellent and the rice and beans of all flavors were perfect. I highly recommend coming here for a good quality meal. If you just want drinks and something small it’s also great.”

“Overall: 4.6/5 (dine in) The service here is a cut beyond the rest. The owner is super nice and goes around talking to every table. He's pretty attentive to the customers and offered so many things like tea, super spicy chilis, or banchan refills. They also pack your leftovers for you! The personalized service you receive here creates an instant fondness for this restaurant and makes you want to tip very well or become a regular. The owner gave me an apron to wear so I don't spill any food on my white dress!!! For banchans, we got homemade kimchi, seaweed, radish, sausage, and bean sprouts. The kimchi and radish were so delicious we got refills. The seaweed was white and had a crunchy texture so it was fun to eat. The sausage and bean sprouts were okay. I got the super spicy chili as well. The first piece burneddd but the pieces after that weren't too bad. My husband also got a cup of tea which I think is barely tea. It was a great way to wash down the meal. We got the combo plate which includes kalbi, meat jun, and BBQ chicken ($20.95). The meat jun was the best of the three. It was so tender, soft, and delicious - especially when it's "swimming in sauce". This sauce is fantastic on the white rice too! The BBQ chicken wasn't overcooked but also wasn't as juicy as I would have liked it to be. The kalbi was good too and probably my second favorite meat. Only the mac salad was okay. Ja Jang Myeum (black soy bean sauce noodle) + Tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork or chicken) combo ($21.95): The flavors were more Chinese than Korean for these 2 dishes. - When I ordered tangsuyuk at other restaurants, they usually serve the protein - typically pork - coated in the sweet & sour sauce. Here they put the sauce on the side to dip. Their sauce is THICK and has pieces of random fruit (pineapple) or vegetables (bell pepper, wood ear mushroom) in it. For this dish, I recommend eating the protein with the sauce together. We got pork which was dry inside the batter and tasted pretty bland by itself. I would have also liked the batter to be a bit crispier. - The ja jang myuem tasted different than what I was expecting and didn't really bring out the flavors of the ingredients. I barely tasted the meat or onions. They also give you a side of raw onions, pickled radish, and more of the black bean sauce which is suppose to be more for balancing out the heavy dish but it did more for me by giving a nice contrast in flavor and heat profiles. I also topped off the ja jang myuem with gochugaru chili flakes and ate it with the banchans to give it more flavor. The noodles, however, were fresh and really good!”

“Growing up in Hawaii and now living on the "9th Island," I have definitely experienced some excellent local cuisine in my life. I first tried Aloha Specialties back in the late 90s during my first visit to Las Vegas. The experience was wonderful because prior to that visit, I haven't had any good local Hawaiian food in years due to my time away from the islands (serving in the military). After my late 90s visit, I revisited Las Vegas in 2011 with my family to meet up with my Mom and Dad. This is the visit we always remember because the time spent with them was wonderful and marks the first time for my family trying Aloha Specialties. Fast forward in time...after years serving in the military between my wife and I, our final stop in our careers brought us back to Las Vegas in 2014, which we ended up retiring here. Since our arrival, we've tried so many local Hawaiian restaurants in the city, but still manage to revisit Aloha Specialties from time-to-time because this restaurant will always hold a piece of family history for us. In fact, we still try to sit in the same back, corner booth we did from the 2011 visit (even though the restaurant experienced a renovation), just to relive the memory. The service here is always outstanding; I have NEVER received bad customer service from the employees during any of my previous visits. Not to mention, the service is amazingly fast even during peak hours. The price-to-quantity/quality ratio is phenomenal; the amount of rice they serve here is remarkable. I also appreciate how this restaurant supports the men and women of the Armed Forces and its Veterans. Unfortunately, I don't want to list all the food I've tried here because I think I've managed to try ~70-80% of the menu items by now; however, I will provide a small list of my family's favorites (to include mine). We really enjoy getting the Mix Plate, Local Plate, Aloha Bento, Korean Spicy Chicken, Saimin, and Wonton Min. During our most recent visit, my wife stated that the Korean Spicy Chicken is in her top-3 favorite chicken dishes ever! We definitely will be back in the future and I highly recommend this restaurant to all 9th Island residents and visitors from across the world.”

“Overall: 4.3/5 (dine in) Block 9 is located in the corner of the building and can be missed if you're not looking carefully. We went on a Friday afternoon and it wasn't packed. The set up is like an Asian fast food joint. The food came out in about 10-15 minutes after we ordered on disposable trays. Food was good but the price is a tad high for the amount of food you get compared to another Thai restaurant of the same caliber. Pork Skewers ($14): This came with 4 skewers, a side of sauce, and sticky rice. We poured the sauce over the rice and skewers. It wasn't strong but complimented the meat and rice well. The pork skewers were a good size, tasty, and tender. The sticky rice was okay. Lunch Drunken Noodles ($12) with Combo Pork & Beef ($3): They gave a generous amount of protein - pork, beef, & shrimp! The pork and beef were standard but the shrimps were really juicy. The drunken noodles were delicious and addicting as well. The wontons were crispy but didn't really go with the drunken noodles so I felt like it was its own appetizer.”

“Really good neopolitan style pizza. Got the garlic based one and has a type of ranch based sauce instead of red sauce on it. Very cheesy with a unique crunchy and fluffy crust with a good chew and flavor to it which is probably due to it's special sourdough starter. Their burger was also very good which was done as a smash burger. Flavor is very beefy but also has a acidic style sauce so if that's not your thing you may wanna ask to go light on that burger sauce. The second best surprise after the unique pizza dough was the fries. These are the best fries I've ever had in my life. They are crunchy, fluffy, and flavorful! These are Michelin star level fries! 30 min in these fries still tastes as good as taking the first bite when they arrived. Fries are top notch and should always be gotten if you come here. Will be coming here again to try the red sauce based pizzas and evaluating that next.”

“The employees were all wonderful people. I went to eat there for the first time. My fiance said the sandwiches are some of the best he has had. I got the turkey and provolone and tried this red chopped pepper stuff they have and I wish I got more on the sandwich. It was so so yummy! “So I stopped by at 1 o’clock today to pick up lunch for me and my granddaughters. I ordered three orders of chicken strips. so my granddaughter was eating and she found several fries with fried on hair. I called the manager and he was gracious enough to give me a $20 credit, finding my granddaughter with her in her mouth who is going to continue eating. There was only 1 guy working, and he was very nice and told me just a couple minutes, I was watching him make the food on the grill and could tell he knew what he was doing. So far as taste goes, it was some of the better hot pot I've experienced but sadly, there were a couple of annoyances that kind of overrode the overall quality of the experience. I doubt my wife will eat there again but to be fair, this kind of stuff is hit and miss for her in general. So for me, I DO NOT like mushrooms...AT ALL. Pretty much anywhere I've ever eaten, I can ask to have mushrooms not added to my dish. Many people love mushrooms but just as many, if not more, don't care for them. Not so at this place. They said the mushrooms where there and couldn't be removed. Why? Why not add them at the end? They assured me that they were large and would be easy to pick out. This was not true. These albino mushrooms were the same color as noodles and about the size of them as well. This killed a lot of my enjoyment of the dish. Additionally, I understand that it's "hot" pot but I don't understand why it had to be scalding hot. The other hot pot places I've eaten, the diner has some control of the temp Not so here. We had to wait for the flames to go out to get it to cool down and we all burned our mouths. Finally, I will always dock at least one star if your only drink option is pay-by-the can soda. To sum it up, I will probably eat there again because it did taste good. I enjoyed my wife's soup that did not have mushrooms far more than I liked mine and I ate all her leftovers. I offer this as constructive criticism because I hope these guys are successful but I want my future dining experiences there to be better”
