“We went to Space Kids - rockets and more recently and it was absolutely fantastic. My husband and I enjoyed it along with our son, who came out smiling and inspired. The whole event was fabulous and there was a good mix of talking and doing if that makes sense. The team were approachable, chatty and talented. The observatory and surroundings are beautiful too. Highly recommended!”

Royal Engineers Museum

Open until 05:00 PM

Prince Arthur Rd, Gillingham ME7 1UR, United Kingdom

“Lovely museum with loads to see and activities to do. I took my daughter here today and she found it really interesting (which for a six year old, trying to find anything that can capture her attention is a challenge but she watched the videos around the museum and took time to try and read the information on the displays - she was fascinated by so much of the museum). We did the workshop that was available for today which for £5 was brilliant value as we had a hour of learning about physics for kids (using paper airplanes) and Rosie Rivet. The lady who ran the workshop was lovely and the staff overall were fantastic as my daughter lost her toy lion and someone had handed him in and the ladies at the desk were helpful. Felt the cafe was pretty reasonably priced and the sandwiches were tasty. Given the price of the ticket is valued for a year we will come back to do the gallery which we missed due to time constraints. It’s worth a visit if you are in the area.”

Verulamium Museum

Closed until 11:00 AM

St Michael's St, St Albans AL3 4SW, United Kingdom

“I went with my daughter and 8 year old grandson as he's been studying the Romans at school. It is easy to find and parking is good. There are lots of very interesting exhibits from coins to mosaics and skeletons. It is very interactive and there is something interesting to do for children from 2- 92 (drawing, coin rubbing, try making a mosaic and many other things). It was half term so I suspect there was even more stuff than usual. There were only a couple of members of staff around but they very engaged and knowledgeable again with all age groups. Once you've looked around inside, it is worth visiting the Roman theatre and new excavations which are outside and just across the road. A very well thought out and interesting museum and tickets are a very affordable. The toilets outside were a bit basic and actually one was quite dirty, but that's more down to how customers behave than the museum. Well worth a visit. Plenty of places, benches etc outside to have a picnic too.”

Eyam Museum
4.5
( 16 reviews )
Open until 04:00 PM

Hawkhill Rd, Eyam, Hope Valley S32 5QP, United Kingdom

“Excellent museum with great content regarding the bubonic plague that came here in the 17th century. The displays detailing the plague are in chronological order and full of information, displayed on tall boards, they are easy to understand for children and adults alike. Admission was £4.50( I wasn't aware of any concessions) with the option of a map of Eyam village for £1,”

Armagh Observatory And Planetarium

Open until 04:30 PM

College Hill, Armagh BT61 9DB, United Kingdom

“We have dunsink observatory on our doorstep and came up to here for a change of celestial viewings. We loved the exhibition centre lots of wonderful display pictures models interactive screens. Sensory room also was fun and the other room with space and environment. We forgot to go to the build a rocket room but should also mention the room. We viewed our solar system in the dome and it was brilliant show I read some other reviews complaining about their necks 😆 we sat in the middle row and no one from 6 to 80 had issue as the seats are comfy and reclined to an angle for viewing that's how you watch the dome show the main features are in front of your eyes all the time if your rubber necking your missing the main viewing FYI Staff were brilliant and friendly I'd also like to say I was impressed with our show guide especially when she spoke of hopefully some type of life on some of the planets whether it was a flower a fish etc cause I believe there's life beyond otherwise its a waste of space. We had a lovely stroll around the grounds on a frosty day and loved it. I'd recommend to all ages to come visit it gets minds buzzing and open thinking and could inspire the next galileo astronaut astro physicists etc. Great space themed giftshop also at the entrance. We will defo be back again thank you for a lovely few hour's to imagine possibilities beyond.”

Dover Transport Museum
4.8
( 16 reviews )

Willingdon Rd, Whitfield, Dover CT16 2JX, United Kingdom

“My family and I visited back in November and again today, as initial entrance fee is valid for the entire year. This is excellent value for money, and the volunteers have done an amazing job to make this place look great. My 2 year old daughter absolutely loves this place. Even if your not particularly into motor vehicles, this museum is still an absolute gem. The museum displays include vehicles of all kinds, shops which you actually walk into and upstairs. Our favourite sections were being allowed upstairs on the double decker tour bus, model railway (which is huge) and when it's available- using the fire engine hose to knock down targets! Well done to all the volunteers that make this place such a great day out.”

Open until 04:00 PM

10 Wellington Rd, Coalbrookdale, Telford TF8 7DX, United Kingdom

“The museum is good, although the stand out water learning and play display in the centre of the main room doesn't work as intended and is becoming a bit of a pink elephant. We have the iron bridge museum's pass and would recommend this to those who live locally.”

The Play Station
4.2
( 8 reviews )
Open until 09:00 PM

Unit H, Adderley Road, Opposite Adderley Park, Saltley, Birmingham B8 1ED, United Kingdom

“We like the place. It’s decent for the price but it’s like no one does maintenance on the place. Things are broken and ripped and none has taken them out/replaced them. It’s a nice place for a budget friendly family indoor play. On the entrances there are Arcade style games which is a hit for the older kids. There is an on-site fast food canteen. Good price, simple menu. There is a small prayer area upstairs too. Would visit again.”

Herschel Museum Of Astronomy

( 8 reviews )
Open until 05:00 PM

19 New King St, Bath BA1 2BL, United Kingdom

“Small but well formed. The only house IN THE WORLD where a planet has been discovered, and where the visible spectrum was surpassed with the discovery of infra red in 1800. There's a plaque in the garden where the telescope was. I stood on it and hugged my girlfriend and used my finger for an all too predicate joke.”

Royal Gunpowder Mills
4.5
( 8 reviews )

Beaulieu Dr, Waltham Abbey EN9 1JY, United Kingdom

“It's not a theme park. If you are into history, this is probably for you. I would recommend reading up before you go to get the best out of the visit. The tractor tour is an absolute must. The best parts (and the largest part) can only be seen this way. Get your name down on the list for the next available tour when you arrive. If you want to take pictures on the tour, most of the opportunities are available from the left side of the trailer. Recommend”

“Surprisingly interesting museum, with a fun bottle making activity for children (and adults), although that may have just been for half-term. Lots to explore, including seeing inside two old bottle kilns. Plenty of exhibits of local China and history about its production and the lives of the people who worked there.”
