Lumlum

404 W 49th St, New York, NY 10019, United States

“The food at LumLum is absolutely excellent, and they stay true to their recipes as I tried to request less spice in my dish, but they said that they couldn't alter the recipe. For me, that was a signal that the kind of Thai food I was ordering was truly authentic. I had one of their curries, and most of my friends ordered noodle dishes, which they all liked. I loved the decor and the space, but the restaurant itself is a bit crowded. There's barely any room to walk around, and for my party of 5, we really had to scoot close together and move the table to allow the party behind us to get up and leave / use the bathroom / etc. I would come here again, just with a smaller group.”

“They were so gracious about my dietary restrictions and allowed me to make substitutions. They do not have much vegetarian option. The hot soups/broths are made with bonito (fish). I ended up getting a cold noodle dish to avoid the soup and got salad dressings instead of dipping sauces. I also got vegetable tempura, which was great. They have cold and hot soba options, both are great.”

Shaking Crab (hell's Kitchen)

737 9th Ave, New York, NY 10019, United States

“I brought a group of friends here to enjoy some good food and vibes, and like always, they did not disappoint. The new Tom Yum sauce is a great addition to their selection of seafood sauces. The new appetizer platter and Thai wings were perfect for sharing and to get the table going while waiting for the main course. Music, drinks, and service are top notch! Niko, the manager made sure we have a good time. Thank you for always rolling out the red carpet whenever I come by. Arguably one of the best Shaking Crab branches!”

“My friends and I were celebrating my birthday at Sushi Ishikawa last weekend, and unfortunately I was quite disappointed with my experience. The quality of the sushi was lacking. The fish tasted stale and lacked freshness, which is a crucial aspect of any sushi restaurant. The presentation of each course was over-compensating, heavy toppings, mix flavors. Furthermore, the service was rushing and inattentive. We didn't get our drinks until 30 minutes after we ordered. Our chef was professional, but seemed overwhelmed. We tried to ask for more details for each piece of sushi we had, but the staff seemed distracted and unresponsive to our questions. We didn't know what we were eating the half of the time. My favorite course is the dessert... The overall experience is 1.5 star. I wouldn't recommend here to others. The quality of the food and service here do not match its high price point.”

Inside Sushi

410 Amsterdam Ave, New York, NY 10024, United States

“Sushi Nonaka deserves a glowing 5-star review for its outstanding omakase, impeccable service and warm ambience. For an immersive culinary adventure, secure a spot at the sushi bar downstairs. The chef has a good sense of humor and had us smiling between bites. The freshness of the fish further elevates the entire experience, making Sushi Nonaka a top-tier choice for sushi enthusiasts. Make sure to ask for the sharkskin flounder—it's a hidden gem if in season!”

Nick + Stef's Steakhouse
4.2

9 Pennsylvania Plaza, New York, NY 10001, United States

“The service and atmosphere was second to none. But the food could have been better. I was sick almost immediately after eating. The oysters tasted great but likely was what made me sick. Also there was only one decent sized oyster and the rest were tiny. Then we ordered the cute de beuf (Ribeye for two) that we ordered med. rare came out medium well. Overall, it was a good experience, but for the price I expected better food.”

Sushi Sasabune

401 E 73rd St, New York, NY 10021, United States

“Delicious, welcoming, kind, calm. If I had lived a bit closer to this restaurant, that would be my most frequent place to eat. A smiling face of that great of a chef makes this place even nicer. Quiet place so that you can really experience the taste. Thank you.”

The Bernardine
4.3
( 8 reviews )

155 W 51st St, New York, NY 10019, United States

“I had high expectations for this restaurant. Pros: The appetizers were very tasty, my favourite was the complimentary soup. The portions were just right. I liked that you have different options for your dinner. It was kinda like a set menu but you have the freedom to choose different dishes for your meal. The flavours were good for some of the dishes, I felt like they were trying to play with different cuisines. It was not only French but a little bit of Asian, for example the shrimps with coconut sauce. A bit of Caribbean with the fruits added to the dessert. Cons: Although the service was good I felt rushed because you have to decide all your options at the beginning of your meal with the little time provided. They served bread but it’s cold. Some of the dishes tasted good but it wasn’t like wow either. Some of the desserts were an interesting take on Asian styled desserts. But the balance of sweet and sour was off as the dessert was sour. The linen on the table is old and worn out. It was not comfortable to touch nor look at as there were lint all over the middle of the table. Being a high end restaurant, we were expecting a lot more for attention to details.”

“I ordered 2 days in same week for dinner, price worthy. Taste very good and it’s fresh. I love raw sushi and it’s really good. Thank you, preparation was very quick.”
