“Was a great dinner near wheee I’m work. Love the traditional interior and the shouting. We’re going to ordering a double egg dishes and turn out that’s the thousand year egg dishes, which not everyone favourite. Probably I will try that next times. The chicken, duck, pork tastes amazing, very deliciously and the end we had the Yam pancake, prefect ending.”

“@tres_a_cinco 📍 CBD ✔️ Habanero Oysters ✖️ Prawn Tamale ✔️ Fish Taco ✔️ Quesa Birria ➖ Chicken Skewer ✔️ Tres Leches Tres a Cinco, a Mexican cantina and bar nestled along the iconic Hosier Lane in the heart of Melbourne's CBD, is the brainchild of the talented MoVida team and their seasoned Mexican chef, Sarai Castillo. It all started as a humble takeaway service named Comida Corrida, a creative endeavour that kept both herself and her international colleagues employed during the challenging times of COVID lockdowns. Now, it has evolved into a colourful, permanent establishment. 🇲🇽 The menu includes some of the chefs childhood favourites and the drinks list pleases the tequila lover featuring 8 different Margaritas and plenty of Mexican beers. pleases the tequila fans featuring 8 different Margaritas as well as a range of Mexican beers. 🍺 The Habenero Oysters were tangy, fresh and very spicy! The Fish Taco would have been perfect had the fish portion was a bit smaller. We weren’t a fan of the Prawn Tamale, it was unappealing and only had 3 small tiny prawns inside. Staff kindly took it off the bill when we enquired. The Chicken Skewer had lovely flavour but was dry. The Quesa Birria was very different to any I’ve had before.. it was served with something that more resembled a gravy than a consommé - and too small for dipping. It wasn’t crispy, the onion was on the outside, there was no coriander and very beef heavy. I still enjoyed it for what it was. 🙃 We finished with the Tres Leches cake, which was nice and light. The milk was served at the bottom of the plate rather than soaked through, would’ve loved more dulce and a bigger portion for the price. I loved the fit out, vibe and the service however with the food maybe my expectations here were set too high. Unfortunately nothing left us with a lasting impression. ⭐️ 3.2/5 💸 $$”

Longsong

Upstairs, 44 Little Bourke St, Melbourne VIC 3000, Australia

“My husband and I had our wedding reception here! Homra and staff were so incredibly helpful, thoughtful and really made our big day a breeze. The food was exceptional (even when feeding 83 people in sync) and the drinks were flowing the whole night. I would highly recommend longsong for any event - especially a wedding reception. Homra even made sure our projector idea worked!”

“Read the reviews and people bragged about how delicious the Foie Gras was. Bring a lover of foie gras, I decided to try and was very satisfied with Foie Gras Wagyu Fried Rice. The foie gras was pan fried, crispy outside and creamy inside. Silky texture and supper yummy! I also like how they serve the dish - the foie gras sits on top, and give you the choice to mix with the rice or not. And it’s a decent big slice of foie gras. Definitely worth the money! The sashimi was fresh, sweet, and nicely presented, will definitely order it again. I would have given it a five star review if my Wagyu Harmony Steak was served hot and cook right. It was cold when it was served and not the medium (warm pink center) I asked for. A nice cut of meat, flavorful, and the sauce was tasty, goes well with the steak. We also ordered Chicken Karaage, but forgot to take the photo. The karaage was good and great for pairing with draft beer.”

“The food here is so fresh and looks beautiful! The environment is also nice and clean. It is different from the normal hotpot, as it’s based on fish soup and has delicious fish slides in it. And I love their pots so much which can go up and down. That’s easier for us to get the food from the pots.”
