“Shelves in absolute disarray but don't worry! 3 framing associates were absolutely shouting about a display not being to their liking 🙄 instead of doing work they had to make sure everyone knew how annoyed they were. Literally left without buying because I was sick of listening to them. …”

“I have been visiting Toadstool Bookshop since I was a little girl. Some of my favorite books growing up were purchased here. As an adult, I love their used book section (I own an online antique bookstore), the wide variety of new books, and the delicious food in the cafe. A great place to lose yourself for a few hours.”

“Came here looking for percale cotton sheets and found them on discount. They had returned stock but I was able to find a set that were brand new and still got the sale. Check prices online before buying- they have some good deals in store but not all sales are better than online pricing.”

“Bought a country line 25 ton this Fall and got it home filled with gas and float was stuck and it flooded down into the crank cast and contaminated engine oil. I tried pulling cord and engine was seizing . I called the manager and spent 3-4 hours and everyone kept saying you have to call this "other number" so after 4 phone numbers and 5 different people I was referred back to Pelham New Hampshire again. They finally had someone come pick up the seized log splitter and swapped it out with one that had been sitting outside for a year or two. Never again, The manager was horrible.”

“They're everywhere, all around me; staring, with their judgmental, thoughtless eyes. They are hollow and soulless; their movements stuck in a state of perpetual stillness. They neither ask me if I need help finding anything, nor lend any opinion on any particular, possible selection. They are simply there, leaving me to my own devices, decisions, and my own thoughts. Ugh. Leave me alone you lifeless, solid-state replica of the essence of what it means to be human. Leave me be, and let me browse in peace.”

“Overall i find savers really helpful to thrift items. Its really convientent. In the past, i have found useful games at low cost. This past week, i did find a sweater and shorts for 20 total. It was bit overpriced; but I really needed it for a trip. I didn't find all items over priced; but some prices feel similar to marshalls.”

“Went to make a first time donation. When we got there, the two employees did not greet us or smile. We started removing boxes. We handed one to each of the two and removed more boxes, placing them on the ground. Apparently, one of them had said "DON'T PUT THEM ON THE GROUND" from in the garage. My Mother is hard of hearing. He stormed over as she was putting the box down to say, "I SAID NOT TO PUT THEM ON THE GROUND", My Mother was bewildered and said "Why?" And he repeated, "don't put them on the ground" My Mother look around and said, "I don't see a sign?" Reminder, this is both our FIRST TIME dropping off donations at this location. Then he said, "HOW WOULD YOU LIKE PICKING THINGS UP ALL DAY?" And that's when I told him, "You don't have to be RUDE!" After that, he lost it. He told us to take our stuff and leave. I said, "No, we are dropping off our donations" He said, "No I don't want it!" I continued to remove items. Then he said, "leave or I am calling the police." I told him to go ahead, I know that we were not in the wrong. He radioed another employee (who must've been inside), "to call the police, we have an unruly customer." Then I got extremely insulted. By NO MEANS were we being unruly in the SLIGHTEST. We came to drop of donations, so we were going to; he was just extremely RUDE. He wouldn't give me his name. I asked him for his manager and he said, "I AM the Manager." I told him I wanted the store manager and he says, "I am the highest ranking manager that works here." I obviously knew that was not true. My mother said we will not be donating here ever again (and it was only our first time!) He said, "that's fine we don't need it." Absolutely no pride or work ethic. Two women employees came out to join us. As I explained to her, everything I said, he just kept yelling, "She's lying, she's a liar." The woman asked what I wanted her to do.She said, "pull up and I will go check the cameras." We parked and went in. I waited at the front. Once she was there, I went over to her and she stared at me. I said, "Hi, I am the girl from out back (donation center)" she said "I know." She didn't say anything else; it was like she had already completely forgotten what she said she'd do. I asked, "Did you look at the cameras?" She said, "and what would I get from that?" I was baffled. I told her "so you can see how he treated us, how unprofessional he was talking to us" and she told me that the cameras don't pick up sound. I have no idea why she offered it. I asked her, then what do I do? She kept saying and pointing out everything WE did wrong. She said WE should've ASKED if we can put it on the ground. I told her that there are NO signs with instructions or stating NOT to put things down. It's literally impossible for anyone to know... she kept saying "you should've asked". I told her that we thought we were being COURTEOUS by helping. Again, she said, "you should have asked." No shed of empathy or sincerity to her face. All the blame was on us. Why would we care if we can't put a box on the ground? What would WE get out of making a problem from dropping off donations? Absolutely nothing. We only had a problem with the rudeness of the employee. By no means, did we want to start a problem. But the way he treated us like criminals for PUTTING A BOX ON THE GROUND is completely foolish. How can people be SO mean? We just wanted to help, we just wanted to make a donation. Probably the worst part, this Employee from out back in the donation area walked to the front of the store to listen to our conversation; "disguising" it as picking up the donation bin from the front, which was 1/4 full and stayed there to watch. This wasn't the last time. He walked down one of the shoe aisles near us and just watched us, walked away, and kept looking back at us. And this time, I recorded him doing it. He was HARASSING us, trying to intimidate us. We paid and left; but not only upset, we were scared. We couldn't have gotten in the car to drive away fast enough.”

“I was just at Party City on Monday to purchase some balloons for my daughter's birthday. Leon was at the register and was immensely helpful. He was pleasant and when I asked if there were any store coupons he directed me to sign up for text alerts which I did. He then took his time to put together the balloon bouquet paying close attention to detail. I was so impressed. Nowadays customer service seems to be gone, but Leon was awesome. :-) I will be using this store for future party purchases.”
