“This is a very shady company. On the website I found a puzzle for my wife. There was a button that said "Click here to see the sale price." When I clicked, a large box popped up with a price in giant font about 2/3 the regular price. But the small print said that this was the price for some magnifying glass and by clicking OK, it got added to my cart. Unaware of their sneak-in-basket tactics, I decide to buy 3 puzzles instead of 2 because of the sale price I thought I had. They wouldn't have fooled me except that these were gifts from my wife and I could hear her coming down the hall, so I finished things up in a hurry. When I later saw the charge, it was almost double what I expected because there was no sale price for the puzzles AND the stupid magnifying glass was added. Their button that said "click here for the sale price" was a lie. There was no sale price. It was just a trick to sneak something extra into your cart. If you shop here, don't turn your back on them and count your fingers when you're done. If you need more proof of their dishonesty, now that they have my e-mail address, I'm still getting spammed a year later in spite of unsubscribing. I suspect that clicking "unsubscribe" does nothing except tell them that this is an active e-mail address. The "unsubscribe" button is also a lie. Did I complain to them? Yes. You can read the other 1-star reviews to find out how they deal with complaints. They're oh so willing to make things right....you just have to jump through a bunch of hoops for them first, the hourly wage for which will work out to about 10 cents. They're arrogant and condescending and treat you like an idiot. You can hear their eyes rolling over the phone and over the internet.”

I love the aisle with products that you never would expect at a grocery store. There’s some wonderful prices and some very good stuff. I recently bought several pairs of shoes for a needy family. “I received great service here. As soon as I was let in the door, which was right away, a nice gentleman helped me and stuck with me through the whole purchase. I had some old coins to trade in and some silverware that turned out to be plated. I felt like they did a very fair business there. If I ever have anything in the future or family wants to trade in anything, I will go there or send them.”

“Had a great time checking out The Novel Neighbor. They were utterly packed two days before Christmas, and the store is a narrow labyrinthine place, so it was a bit claustrophobic. Their selection is wonderful, and they have a ton of non-book items, from tea to dishtowels, board games to soaps. I picked up some enamel pins for my bookbag and an item for a white elephant gift exchange. The staff were just wonderful, so personable, taking the time to visit with each person and help anyone who needed it.”

“This place is over the top and has almost everything I need. I'm not from Missouri and am still finding it difficult to find fresh ochre, but they had it frozen. They also had salt pork when I couldn't find hammocks. Made my holiday dishes so much better to cook with ingredients I'm used to. What is over the top is all the precooked food! It's amazing.”

“There was definitely a romantic atmosphere. I was there with my wife and my grandkids and their dates. It's a little too dark for me. I had to use a candle to see the menu. I ordered a pasta dish that was similar to Fettuccine Alfredo, but it wasn't a sauce. It was kind of a dry type of cheese noodles, almost like a baked Fettuccine Alfredo. It was a little dry, but I enjoyed it. My wife ordered a pizza, and she said it was awesome. Pepperoni pizza with spicy hot honey drizzled on top, thin crust. She enjoyed it immensely. The olive oil and bread were outstanding. I waited too long to write this review, so I don't remember what my granddaughters and their dates ordered. But they all seemed to enjoy their meals and did not complain about anything. It's a great place for a date night. If this review was helpful, please give me a thumbs up.”

“This is a great place for smokers, grills, and roasters. I recently worked with Isaac on getting pull-behind pig roaster on an expedited time frame and kept me in the loop through - he came through like a champ and I received my roaster weeks ahead schedule! Excellent customer service, excellent products...what more you could you ask for? You of all need to stop into this company for your smoker and grilling needs and you will not regret it. You'll be supporting a local business as well and this is great for the STL community.”

“Every time I go to this place, I feel that I should have packed a lunch. I could spend lots of time here. I never leave without carrying out something.. (strings, music stand, 12-string Yamaha, Acoustic 6-string, Capos, Strap, Bass Amp, etc) The acumen of the staff is keen. Once knowing my needs (multi-track recorder) they intervened and prevented me from dropping cash on an item that would not have been the appropriate choice, and instead, gave me some proper "schooling" on what would be more relevant, placed me on a watch and notify list. AND advising me to reload and update the drivers on my DAW. I recently took a vintage guitar in for an evaluation and within 15 minutes, the staff not only identified the make, year, and value of this 52-year-old dot neck ES 335 Lawsuit instrument online, but provided me with photographs (DNA). I'm Telling my friends and going in again...(and again)”
