“So, REI just always comes through. Modus operandi. Seriously, I’m in there with a seemingly defective product, a high level of “I rode nearly 10 miles to work in the dark because this light set…” frustration and they say things like, “Ok.” and “I’m here to listen.” and, better still, “We’ll make this right.” And they did. Yeah, you can find cheaper and free of everything somewhere other than in this tried and true, real world co-op, but maybe not two or three times in a two week spread like I did with this particular hassle. They were so good to me while taking in my frowning unhappiness. For instance, I can’t return either that cool sweatshirt I found on the ground in Westmoreland Park for a different size or that dented, garbage pile fender that won’t make it on my aged bike anyway. You know? Alright REI. I still can’t afford the lifetime membership. Yet. Maybe. “So there.” they must be saying. Thanks a bunch. Earned respect.”
