He cooked the best chicken curry ever with everything he bought from this shop! I must pay a visit soon for a basket full of vegetables & spices with some of their packs of curry powders. “Tried to return an online order from November (Xmas gift) which was too small , but was point blank refused in store because the ‘bar code’ said it was sold in September….despite having an email showing it was bought in November. Staff refused to do anything….such a let down M&S …something has gone wrong at your end and you wouldn’t entertain the possibility:…..perhaps the packer forgot to scan the item before it was posted to us?? it was a case of computer says no…..customer service non existent. Expected better, won’t be back any time soon.”

“Update September 2023: Your can see below I bought a Helmet from Custom Lids over a year ago. The sunvisor part of the visor broke. You know the inbuilt sunglasses. I was advised by Anthony the sales director of Ultimate Moto to take the helmet back to show CLs what has happened and they'll fix it or replace it. No. I replied they won't I've had for about a yr or so. They will just take it and ask. SO I DID. And after considering the problem they went and fetched me a brand spanking new Helmet from within the shop and replaced mine. No quibbles no bother. If you've got your receipt take it with you. I am still amazed at how good they all were. Kev the owner is a delight of a man who has so much knowledge about gear and safety you should get yourself here... And imagine this. Whatever you buy here is quality. It is expensive compared to Primark. But Primark don't make clothes that will save your life. You get what you pay for. Well you certainly do here. There is NO RISK BUYING SAFETY CLOTHES HERE or Equipment. As I've demonstrated above. You buy something and in normal use it breaks or doesn't work, bring it back, don't take the Mick, be honest bring your receipt if you have it, and Custom Lids will take a look and if it is broken or has failed they'll replace the item... No quibbling no begging required. I was and remain astounded by this shop and it's attitude towards it biker/rider shoppers. Thanks for reading. This below still stands: If you want motor bike gear that saves limbs and lives; I'd recommend this place. By gear I mean clothing, gloves and helmet. I visited Custom Lids. Here's what happened: Wow. It's a bit overwhelming when you first step thru the doors. There's a huge noise above the door when you go in. To let the staff know someone is entering and leaving. They could move that a bit it doesn't half startle you if you've got hearing aids in. There are motorcycle clothes in here for every shape & size and Alex the Salesman is a class act. He squeezed money out of me with professional ease. I have to say I still had preconceived ideas about what I needed. Its the autism bit in me. Anyway he hung in there with me and I bought things I ought to to be as safe as I can be on the road. And I'm all the better for it Do bear in mind most motorcycle collisions are at low speeds and can cause life changing injuries if you don't have proper safety gear on. Anyway I was helped by the staff. Some other men came in they were grey haired too. Alex gave me some discount which is very good of him. I wasn't expecting any but I would have asked at the till. I've bought the most expensive hat (In the end that's what a helmet is) in my life. And definitely the most expensive gloves. One needs the correct gear to save oneself. So there we have it. If you need gear for a motorbike, moped, scooter, quad bike anything, get In here. Alex will look after you. I think in the not too distant future they will have more kit in the shop with technology integrated into it... There is still a debate raging about the kit the purists who are disgusted at the thought of speakers in their helmets. The futurists want all the technology they can get their hands on. I can remember when electronic starters came in. Some said biking will never be the same again, give me my kick start anyday. The world is moving on. Those two ends of the spectrum are coming closer together. And they need to. The March to the internet of everything is already here. Great shop great staff and fab gear. Buy the best you can afford.”
