“This is definitely one of the best cocktail bar in the world. You wouldn’t expect this is the best cocktail bar in the world by its outside appearance, but the atmosphere inside is completely different. Cocktail are all very affordable given the multiple awards that they had. Service are all very good, staff are friendly. Recommend to sit by the bar table as you get to see how the best cocktail is being made. Menu will also update regularly so u dont get the same boring drink.”

“Came here with a friend after dinner on a Wednesday’s night! The cocktail bar was not super packed nor loud, a great place for us to catch up while grabbing a drink! Staff was very helpful with my cocktail selection and gave very nice recommendations. However, my yuzu cocktail was a bit too mild for me. They also did cocktail on request, overall a nice place for friends or couples to spend time with!”

“We took an amazing holiday to London and Scotland. This was one of the highlights of our trip. Such a wonderful place. Great hostess, bartender, and just all around a great time. We were there on a night that the grill was closed, so we didn’t eat there. (which we knew it wouldn’t be open, no surprise) Walking through the refrigerator was very cool. (No pun intended!) I recommend, if you ever get to London this needs to be on your to do list! You won’t be disappointed!”

“Booked in for a Saturday date night with my husband for our one year anniversary. We thought it was such a cool concept and we brought a bottle of gin and a bottle of tequila since my husband and I don’t like the same liquors. We walked in and after about a minute of the hostess not acknowledging our arrival, we were then greeted and seated and the bartender was very nice and spoke to us a bit about what we liked in a cocktail. We told him and preceded to say that we brought respective liquors because we didn’t like what each other drinks, but he suggested that he try to use them both so we received the same drinks. We were hesitant and my husband didn’t really love all of the gin drinks but it was okay, I just wish they would have warned you in the reservation that that was the setup. The cocktails that the bartender made were very good! I imagine if you gave a little more direction it would be an even better experience. The only thing that put us off a bit was the hostess came up to us and told us we were past our allotted reservation time when we still have 5 minutes left and we just got our last drink served. She then proceeded to say that we needed to finish up and did not offer a takeaway cup although we saw other parties being given them. It was a bit disheartening that the expectation was that we finished our drink down in 5 minutes. They could probably do a better job at assisting you with pacing the drinks so that you don’t get your last drink served with 5 minutes to spare. Lovely bartender and good drinks, but the FOH service was less than satisfactory.”

“Great drinks, an elegant atmosphere, and professional waiters. The Donovan is home to the world's oldest and most expensive drink, which packs over 700 years into a glass, including cognac from 1788, setting you back £5500. That’s a bit too expensive for my wallet, but I enjoyed a few good cocktails and also got the truffle toast with onion soup. The cocktails were great, and the meal was pretty good. I also love that they provided complimentary quality cheese and olives as snacks for the table. The staff were professional, but a bit too serious/stiff. You can expect the prices for the «regular» drinks to be in the ~£25 price range. Winston Churchill was a regular in this place, and it felt natural to try «The Winston», which was listed on the menu on the website. Unfortunately, the menu on their website was not updated, and they had stopped offering that drink. That was a bit disappointing, but I got recommended a similar drink called «Big small». The drink was excellent!”

The service is fantastic and so is the atmosphere. If you like signature cocktails - that’s the place to go. You can also try a selection of canapés from the restaurant which were exquisite”
