“Visited on New Year’s Eve and it was surprisingly not crowded. Staff were efficient and nice atmosphere overall. We ordered a few dishes and they tasted pretty good. The Brussel Sprouts were amazing, nicely caramelised on the outside and it didn’t taste bitter at all. Ordered their Raclette Cheese and had to order an extra side of sourdough to go with it, so it’s pretty pricey altogether. The iron plate steak was pretty good, but doesn’t come with any sauce. The food were generally quite delicious and yummy, but the price is pretty high. Might also wanna consider giving free cake for birthday celebration, a small gesture will entice the customers more. This is something that many restaurants are doing too.”

“5 stars for the amazing service tonight at Takashimaya outlet. The lady was so enthusiastic and friendly serving us! The limited edition strawberry apple cake is expensive at $26 for 6 pieces but I enjoyed it. I’m usually not a fan of pineapple tart so I’ll opt for apple filling instead. I bought it on impulse but glad I did so. Not bad to buy it once in a while. Oh I love the reusable mini tote bag that comes along with it.”

“Been here a couple of times to try different items. All are good so far. Love the thosai here, slightly tangy from the batter with crispness at the edges. The accompanying chutney are good too! Chicken tikka bryani(photo) is served nicely plated, just like in the menu! Garlic naan(photo) is delicious, not overpowering or oily. Roti prata has crispness and chewiness at the same time. Would be even better if the accompanying curry is a bit thicker. Staff are always friendly and polite!”

We actually went to the area to have Bak Kut Teh at Ng Ah Sio, and found this durian store just next door so we decided to have some durian for dessert. We gave the Black Thorn variety a try ($32/kg) and found that it was good. Not wanting to miss out on Musang King, I decided to have it as well ($28/kg). Now eventhough the Black Thorn was said to be the superior one, we found that we liked the Musang King better. It's more flavourful and sweeter. It just left a nicer feel in the mouth. Place is clean, which is important to us. Given that it's just next door to our favorite BKT place, we'll definitely be back again for a durian fix next time we're in Singapore.”

White chutney was savoury, coconuty and refreshing. Total score: 15/15 Add-ons: Ginger Tea ($3.56) was also smooth, tasty and gingery. The service was also amazing as I added each thosai separately so that I can savour each of them at their best and the restaurant had no issues with me ordering another thosai after I finished one. One of the service staff also made sure I know that there was sugar on the table that I could add to my ginger tea and I really appreciated him going the extra mile. The place is air conditioned and brightly lit and there was Indian music playing in the background feeding into the overall atmosphere. Will definitely recommend my friends if they want to have amazing thosai in Singapore!”
