“I never leave bad reviews but my aunt went here to buy a cake & came back extremely upset due to a member of staff called Mehfuza. Her service was extremely bad. I recommend cake Inn or cake shop if your looking for cream cakes as they have lovely management and staff and are cheaper anyway. Cake box has lost a Loyal customer. It’s a shame because it’s a lovely store & another staff member there was delightful but mehfuza is a disgrace for upsetting my aunt. I hope she is held accountable.”

“Very busy neighbourhood Italian, with Maurizio and Luca with a friendly welcome for all. Arancini and polenta with bacon in a mushroom sauce were rather delicious. The pasta dishes were so tasty, and filling. The pizzas also looked really good and were a very generous size. Dessert was the staple Italian favourite, Tiramisu. Again a generous portion, very creamy, but it could have done with a stronger coffee hit to really set it off nicely. Overall a great place to get stuck in to some great food.”

Disappointed with a different shop next door, I came here after seeing crowds outside and I realised why it’s so popular after getting a couple of their mixed meat shawarma’s in their freshly baked bread. Meats were cooked perfectly, tasted lovely and their fresh salad with house sauces are nice, all in an amazing warm fresh baked bread. Best shawarma I’ve had anywhere. The bread is the game changer better than anywhere else. The service is really fast and good too, with all the guys serving with a smile and willing to help with your order. I was in and out within a few minutes and the shawarma was eaten even quicker!! 🤣”

“Visited the Lingholm Kitchen twice in two days. The first as we walked from Keswick to Catbells and the second time we drove there. You do have to pay £5 for 3 hours parking but get £4 back when you buy stuff in the cafe. Very good service and quality of food. The rarebit with mushrooms was great and the cheese scone with chilli jam was probably the best I’ve ever had. Good cakes and coffee too 👌”

“Excellent pub. Really cosy and welcoming feel. Staff were good. Food was excellent. Had the duck bon bons to start which had a nice crispy coating and then great duck flavour. The burger was good, maybe a bit less juicy than I’d really like but great flavours and you could tell the chef was preparing everything fresh and with care. The chips were amazing. Crispy and cooked in beef fat so full of flavour. It was busy so definitely book in advance. They also had a live musician start around 6pm which really suited the atmosphere of the pub. It’s not far from the Saddleworth exit on the M62 so defo worth visiting if you’re looking g for a stop off away from a service station.”

Great atmosphere in the restaurant too, even though we came for quite a late lunch on a Friday (around 15h). The food was nice, we shared the parsnips with blue cheese as a starter, in my opinion there wasn't enough blue cheese there, I could rarely taste it. For mains we had the venison meatballs and the steak, both were quite nice. For dessert we shared the chocolate terrine which was super smooth and divine. A great collection of wines too.”
