Catfish was tender & fried perfectly, relish was great, the green beans reminded me of green bean casserole served at Thanksgiving very good, unfortunately I didn't like the corn. Husband order a hamburger with homemade potato chips they were awesome! Had a Bloody Mary & it was also good! Definitely would return to the HandleBar and Grill!!”

“This was on our list to try so we went for the lunch buffet today. I thought it to be a little disappointing. Doesn’t seem like the right setup for a buffet: The salad bar was basic and the 6 pizzas they had out all looked the same. We requested a taco pizza and it took 30 min to come out. Neither the food or service were horrible but not sure it matched the price.”

I've been learning Korean as a hobby and just came back here to get some stuff and was thoroughly impressed. I just spent a ton of money...the only thing I'm mad about is my basket didn't have enough space for me to get more stuff 😂 I saw a nice woman making fresh gimbap and I wasn't sure if I could just take one! “Came here for my sister's birthday. Nice little Italian joint. My dish was very good. So was the salad. However, service was okay. Soda machine was out of fizz, so it didn't taste right. “One of the best places to get ice cream in town! They have a huge selection of homemade ice cream. I absolutely love the homemade vanilla. They also have sundaes and banana splits. The fried dumplings were severely lacking and not worthy. Fried Spring Rolls were ok…missing something though. The Navy transferred me away in 2006 and I didn't have the opportunity to return until today. It's exactly the same. The neighborhood has gentrified and construction is happening all around, but Benny's is an anchor that holds Golden Hills to its roots. Sorry it took me so long to return, I'll try not to wait 17 years for my next visit.”

I dislike very much eating in dark and dismal places; particularly, if it's dingy during the day. However, I tagged along on a birthday dinner on Dec 27th (their favorite place) and was pleasantly, pleasantly surprised by the cheery and comfortable environment. The decor was tasteful and the holiday decorations fun. I couldn't remember my years-ago impression of the food because the atmosphere overshadowed my meals then. But I certainly remember my delicious food this time as well as my experience. My mom happens to like Felipe's as well. I think I'll ask her if she wants to go this evening. She'll be shocked. I've been declining for over a decade.”

“Eat at this restaurant! Incredible and authentic food. Hung out here on a rainy Sunday and it was very relaxed — staff were very kind and friendly. I ordered: Spicy dumplings (out of this world) The Sichuan green beans Braised pork belly rice Mai cai hot pot w/vegetables and rice on the side (this dish is very spicy and cleared out my sinuses in no time, it is full of healthy veggies so it’s perfect for winter colds!) And I had leftovers for days :) I will definitely be back here!”

Dad's Original Scotch Oatmeal Cookies, originating from Scotland in 1900, came to California. Dad's Cookie Company soon embraced franchising, becoming a pioneer in the industry by 1927. During a visit to St. Louis in the same year, a salesman introduced Carpenter's Ice Cream in St. Louis to the flavor of the Scotch Oatmeal Cookie, leading to Mr. Carpenter obtaining the St. Louis franchise. In 1938, St. Louis baker Henry Renz Sr. acquired Dad's Cookie Company from Carpenter's Ice Cream. The Renz bakery on Louisiana Avenue and Keokuk Street became the new home of Dad's Cookie Company. Henry "Hank" Renz Jr. took the reins in 1949. In 1988, the Hastey brothers, another generation of the Renz family, inherited Dad's Cookie Company. Even now, the company offers fantastic cookies in their nostalgic 1930s spot. It's where all the magic happens. The coconut cookie was my favorite!”
