“Not sure when/if the ownership changed, but the menu has changed slightly. This used to be my go-to Chinese restaurant in the Frisco area and I loved coming here for lunch. Went today after a long while and the food looked good but tasted mediocre at best. The hot and sour soup tasted like a burnt corn starch slurry, the beef roll was on the sweeter side, and the vegetables in the Sichuan twice cooked pork felt a little underdone.”

Especially when one of the employees put her bare finger in the noodles to make sure they were warm. (Which they were since it seemed like the noodles and small container of sauce was microwaved.) Wish we had just bought another slice of pizza. I get that prices have gone up lately, but it was honestly kind of ridiculous and soured the meal. For the price of one kid’s pasta and 2 slices of pizza (cheese and pepperoni) for $21 we could have bought a large pizza ($17.25+tax) Lesson learned :(”

“A Disheartening Dining Experience at Osumasuya My recent visit to Osumasuya was, unfortunately, a disappointing journey through flavors that can best be described as sorrow mixed with salt. Jollof Rice: The jollof rice seemed like it had been reheated far too many times, leaving it with a tough, chewy bottom. This dish, normally a staple of warmth and flavor, was instead a hard, joyless version of what it should be. Asun: The asun didn’t fare much better. The meat was overly soft, almost mushy, resembling shredded beef that had been awkwardly glued together rather than the traditionally savory and tender asun. Shawarma: The shawarma was a notable letdown. The meat was hard and tasted burnt. I acknowledge that my late order, about an hour before closing, might have been a factor, but it doesn’t entirely excuse the poor quality. Suya: Then there was the suya. It was tough and lacked the essential flavors – no spice, no zest, just a hard and joyless chew. A Glimmer of Hope – Kilishi: Amidst this disappointing experience, the kilishi was a pleasant surprise. It was the only part of the meal that I genuinely enjoyed, which highlights the unfulfilled potential of the rest of the dishes. Concluding Thoughts: I had high hopes for Osumasuya, but the meal I received was a far cry from the vibrant, flavorful Nigerian cuisine I love and was expecting. The overall taste of the food was akin to sorrow mixed with salt, leaving me not just dissatisfied but genuinely disheartened. It’s my hope that this was an off day for the restaurant and not the norm, as there is certainly room for improvement.”

“I can’t believe it took me so long to try this place. I’ve been missing out. Tokyo Shokudo has an extensive menu that ranges from sushi to udon. With so much on the menu you wouldn’t expect the dishes to be good. That said, everything we ordered was really good. Our group ordered sushi, ramen, udon, curry, and rice dishes and we were all really impressed. The staff is really friendly and spent time to explain and recommend a few dishes. There’s a big room that’s sectioned off that can work well for larger groups and groups with children.”

(Not pictured) pancakes.The service could use some attention. We were seated promptly, even though it was on a Sunday at 11:40 AM. Our server took our order and brought our drinks, We didn't see him again until we were almost finished eating. He brought a refill of our drinks and the check. We will definitely return again. The food was incredible, and the chefs were amazing at getting the food out. The presentation was 5 stars for a lot of the dishes on other tables.”
