“I was thinking between 5 and 4 stars but picked 4 at the end because it wasn’t too impressed with a 5 yet. Good: the restaurant is very cozy, nicely decorated and organized. You can really see the difference compared to other fine dining restaurants. Also the staff is very nice. Need improvement: the music from the bar area was too loud, the whole time we were there it’s all DJ style. The tables are too close to each other, which also makes it look too busy with the servers walking back and forth. The food was just at ok level for the price of $70-$90 of a 12-16oz steak. The steak was overall good, but not a wow. It was at the border of too salty. I also ordered crab fried rice and they put too much soy sauce in it. Will I come back? Maybe.”

“My Girlfriend took me here for my birthday this year. It was an incredibly pleasant experience. The food was superb, the atmosphere was lovely, and the staff were some of the nicest people you’d ever meet. Another highlight was the drinks, they were top notch and they have an old fashioned that is smoked, very good stuff. To top it all off, the staff was kind enough to serve a complimentary slice of chocolate cake with a nice card. I would highly recommend, even if it’s just stopping by for a drink.”

“We went to Sway Thai tonight. I had a delicious Thai iced tea which had a hint of chai in it, one of the best I’ve ever had. We started with fried brisket dumplings and steamed chicken and mushroom dumplings with a chili crunch. The brisket was extremely tender and the chicken mushroom dumplings had a nice kick with the chili. My girlfriend had the chicken pad thai which was some of the most flavorful noodles around, but the chili flakes on top may have done her in (next time she’s ordering without those) and I got their signature dish, the “son in-law” which is pork shoulder over rice with a fried runny egg with the fried garlic flakes on top. One of the best dishes I’ve had in Austin so far. For dessert, we tried the condensed milk ice cream, which tasted more tart than sweet, interesting if you’re going for a more complex ice cream flavor. We also tried the sweet potato (purple yam and orange sweet potato) donut holes, which were also one of the most unusual desserts we’ve ever had. Also not sweet enough to fulfill a sweettooth’s desire, but certainly one of the most original desserts I’ve ever had. Definitely would go back and try the fried rice and some of their double fried chicken wings which we saw on pretty much every other table. Service was very good and vibes were immaculate. 9/10 overall”

“It was late, but still light outside. I was in my hotel room craving a brownie topped with ice cream... That's super specific and random, I know, but it had been a rough drive into Austin earlier that day and I needed (wanted) the comforting hug of a brownie. 😆Pitiful... maybe, but accurate. The hotel's restaurant didn't have anything as simple as a brownie and ice cream, so I searched Google maps hoping to find someplace within walking distance. I was so thankful when I found that Tiff's Treats was only a few blocks away. It was the cutest little place. Quite small, but perfect to grab a treat and go. Two ladies walked in separately after me, so as my order was being prepared, I asked them if they had been here before and what they thought about the place. They both had high praise, so I couldn't wait to get back to the room and taste for myself. I was not disappointed. I'm so thankful that they stay open late and were only a short walk down the street and around the corner! One shortfall compared to Co Ops (Wheatsville, e.g.) or Whole Foods, is that there is no salad bar or hot food bar. Gobi Manchurian is a wonderful surprise - never think to order a cauliflower starter, but this one packs a punch of complex flavor! We ordered more than we could possibly eat (hooray for leftovers), but the mains that stood out to me from a flavor profile were the Lamb Rogan Josh and the Lamb Vibdaloo (yes, it’s just as hot as you’d expect). Recommend ordering a few options and attacking them tapas-style so that you can enjoy more variety. You really can’t go wrong with a lunch visit here b/c the restaurant is moderately busy, but still plenty of time for excellent service and attention from the staff. One call out: at Saffron South, you’re not here for the drinks, you’re here for the food, and that’s where I’d recommend putting your money. Delicious!”
