For just £23, it stands out as the most value-packed and scrumptious Thai buffet I’ve ever had in the UK. The spread showcased a delightful variety: the skewered roasted pork was juicy and perfectly seasoned, the curry rice carried a depth of flavors that was satisfying, and the coconut noodle soup was creamy with just the right hint of sweetness. Don’t even get me started on the roasted duck noodle soup; its rich broth and tender duck pieces were the stars of my meal. “Food distinctly average and consequently overpriced- to be fair they are currently advertising for a chef so should have realized it was going to be poor in the interim. Food took over an hour and a half to arrive although to their credit we were notified there was going to be a wait as there were a number of large parties in at the same time. Sadly it was not worth the wait. Staff didn’t seem to realize they were in the client service industry - monosyllabic, inattentive and at times overly familiar. We had to follow up on our drinks orders to ensure they actually arrived at the table.”

“We popped into the Pickled Ploughman on Halloween as we were staying in Adderbury. The food, wine and service were excellent and we had a lovely experience. “Came here for a quick pick me up after work craving a pizza. There didn't seem to be any other notable options in the area so this place seemed logical.. Being a weeknight and on my own they had no issues seating me. I opted for one of their outdoor seats just outside the entrance as it was a lovely evening. The table was prompty wiped down, menus were provided and my order taken. I very quickly knew what I wanted and that was the olives and calzone. The food took around 20ish minutes but it was worth the wait. The Calzone was plump and the encasing bread was delicious. The filling could've been a bit more loaded with the advertised toppings of chicken and pepperoni but that is a minor complaint as the overall taste was great and it was a very satisfying meal. I didn't see the need to order anything else as the Calzone was filling enough. The service was quick and efficient and they provided me with a whole bottle of tap water to myself which I massively appreciated. What I will say is that the place is a bit pricey @ £15.25 for the calzone but where isn't at the moment? How can restaurants not raise prices without compromising on quality given the apocalyptic econonic climate? So with that in mind, I'm still happy to give it a 5 and would recommend anyone who likes pizza to visit as you won't be dissappointed. I will certainly be coming back for the calzone picante! Update - came back for the Calzone Picante. Shame I can't add more stars to my rating because it was incredible!”

“I visited The Golden Ball with my friends on a sunny Saturday for lunch and we had a marvelous time. We sat outside in one of the tables in the garden. The service was friendly and attentive. Now the indisputable standout was the food, truly superb and way above the standards of a pub. You will feel like eating in a fine restaurant while enjoying the relaxed atmosphere of the countryside. “Been eyeing this place since I got to Oxford. Glad I made it over. Had to wait outside for 15-20 minutes for my order because they were busy and there was no space inside. The two things I ordered, the custard buns and the Sichuan pork dumpling noodles, both came out hot. Noodles and broth were both really, really good. I don't know what it was about them (five-spice? fish sauce??), but I could've eaten another bowl on taste alone. In contrast, I didn't like the pork dumplings very much, and could've done without them. Spice level is enough to make your nose run but never overwhelms the taste of the food. Disappointed I only got two custard buns, but they were the definitely the sweet ending I needed.”
