Taylorsville Lake State Park
4.5
( 8 reviews )

1320 Park Rd, Mt Eden, KY 40046, United States

“This place is gorgeous! It's about an hour drive from our home in South Lexington. We had a campout there with a troop of one of my Children's. The primitive camping area is clean and very well maintained. Nice s'more area around the campfire! We did not encounter any Critters but we keep a really clean camp area. Shower houses were not spotless but very nice and well maintained in terms of mechanics. Laundry room was clean and well maintained. Fishing off of the boat dock was really nice and convenient.”

The restroom is close to the parking lot. Good for soccer and drone camera photography. Picnic benches are also there.”

Geronimo Adventure Park

6749 Farm to Market 2920, Spring, TX 77379, United States

“If I could give them an extra star, I would. We visited Geronimo as part of a family Holiday adventure, and had the best time. Along with us was my 77 year old mother who came from out of town. The staff went above and beyond to make her feel safe and comfortable on the ziplines, and we all had an amazing time. The zip lines and ropes course is very well done. The equipment is all in good condition, and everything is very well explained, so that you feel confident and safe the entire time. The staff is just great... Mostly high school kids that help out on the zip lines but they were all very mature and took their jobs seriously. We also did the axe and knife throwing which was also incredibly fun. It was done in a safe manner that didn't interfere with us having a great time doing it. My only suggestion would be to add some photo spots along the zip line course. We were discouraged from taking our phones on the zip lines, and I'm glad we were because I think it would have taken away from the experience... But a souvenir photo of us zipping through the trees would have been a really nice addition.”

Birmingham Crossplex

( 8 reviews )
Closed until 08:00 AM

2340 Crossplex Blvd, Birmingham, AL 35208, United States

“Parking lot was full, because they had 3 different events going at the same time, we had to walk from the library down the street, across the parking lot in the rain. Only good thing about that we didn't have to pay the ridiculous parking fee and then have to pay to get in. It was 11:00am right at lunch time, but they had already ran out of chicken tenders and fries. The chicken sandwich and the burger were not good at all. But what can you expect from Alabama...Just kidding. :) It is a nice facility and they do keep the bathrooms clean, and most of the staff were nice.”

“Great park! Enjoyed the football game. Remember to bring your chair if you want to sit by the field. The bleachers are not on the sides of the field. No. 2 that our game was on bleachers were in an end zone.”

The Ripken Experience Myrtle Beach
4.7
( 8 reviews )

3051 Ripken Way Blvd, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577, United States

“The Ripken Experience is not an experience. It's a host site/company with nice facilities and well-organized, smoothly-run tournaments. If you want an "experience," you and/or your team will need to plan activities. There is free parking in large lots, and free admission for spectators. You're allowed to bring food, drinks, coolers, tents, chairs, etc. But complimentary cold water, cups, bleachers, and shaded picnic tables are also available. There are several concession options on site, too. Professional photography & game streaming services are available at an extra cost, but personal photos, video, and streaming are permitted, too. There are two sets of covered bleachers and a functioning scoreboard at each (turf) field. An announcer and 2 umps are provided for each game. Fields are modeled after big league fields, with posted facts. Metal cleats are banned, but gum & sunflower seeds are allowed. The complex is large and well-maintained with lots of batting cages & bullpens/warmup mounds. There's also a climbing structure playground. The main snack bar and merchandise/photo shop are air conditioned. The shop has a good variety of souvenir items at high-but-not-horrendous prices and some practical (no logo) items like bat grips, wagons, and catcher's gear. I thought the digital photo package was a great deal, but the prices for printed photos seemed a bit silly. A lot of people were buying them, though. The snack bar prices were way too high, but the souvenir cups were cute. There was a former MLB player at the opening ceremony, and skills competitions on the first day. There were no other supplementary activities, just games. There weren't clinics, speeches, events, practices with other teams, big screen replays of classic games or highlights, etc. No activities - baseball related or not, at the facility or away - were organized/planned. The location also doesn't have a museum, looping reel on a monitor, or even a wall of captioned posters from Cal Ripken Jr's career. There are a few pictures of the baseball great, and a recorded message from him played towards the start of each game. The orange playground may even be a nod the the Orioles' colors. But, there is not a lot of Ripken at Ripken. Myrtle Beach isn't a baseball town. The Pelicans, a Cubs' minor league team, plays nearby and there are some batting cages at mini golf courses. We didn't see anything else baseball-related outside Ripken. Players will see kids from all over the country during the tournament, but they could/will see kids from all over the country just by being in Myrtle Beach. Teams don't interact beyond playing baseball against each other. Games finished early each day, with only a game or two per team, even during brackets. Probably smart since it was incredibly hot and humid throughout our stay. But it felt like a lot of "down time." My son's age group had 20 teams, and 3 were from our state. (Those teams' areas geographically touch. Not Ripken's fault. Maybe our coaches wanted to hang out together at the beach.) After playing 5 games, teams were separated into a A and B brackets, not unusual for large tournaments. There is a rushed, assembly-line type "ring ceremony" for each team after elimination. I don't know what winners experience -- the kid I cared about didn't make it that far. Going into this, you should know/remember 80-95% of teams leave after a loss. (Depending on how you classify runners-up and the B bracket.) So, winning is a big deal, and "losing" isn't so bad. Each player got 3 "free" souvenirs: a tumbler mug, a bag tag, and a ring. Not very exciting swag for kids, but maybe the cup and tag are practical, and a lot of people love souvenirs. The tournament is cashless, but the rest of the town isn't. In fact, most of the places away from the complex add a surcharge for credit cards. This is a nice tournament with nice fields. There are lots of touristy things and a beach nearby. My son had fun, but he loves almost everything about baseball. Overall, it wasn't an experience, just a long tournament in a tourist destination.”

Aviara Golf Club
4.6
( 8 reviews )

7447 Batiquitos Dr, Carlsbad, CA 92011, United States

“We did not stay at the Hyatt. This is strictly based on golf. I grew up down the road from the famous Plantation Golf Course, in Kapalua, Maui. It is our 14th wedding anniversary, and my Husband wanted to take me to a golf course as beautiful as the ones back home in Hawaii. The Aviara golf course did not disappoint!!! We move every one to two years, due to work. So we have been very fortunate to play at many golf courses over the years. This one instantly became one of our top favorites!!! My Husband likes to be challenged, so he especially enjoyed playing here! He is NOT easily impressed, but even he kept saying how well maintained the course was. It truly is gorgeous. Absolutely tranquil. Facilities equally lovely. The staff at the pro-shop were so attentive and friendly. Made us feel very welcome… although we were not guests of the hotel. They even made up a special sign that stated our anniversary on it, which made my eyes water! The Starter was equally as nice and professional. He congratulated us on our special occasion. Our interaction with all the staff started our afternoon off with such a positive note, and those vibes carried us through our entire game!!! We already look forward to our next visit. To the ENTIRE staff at the Aviara Golf Club… even the ones we never met… which includes grounds keepers: “Mahalo nui loa… a hui ho… malama pono… the Padillas” 😊🤙🏼😎🤙🏽”

“First time I've ever been here and it was a great experience such friendly staff. I went early in the morning at 11:00 a.m. and that was a great time to go for my son that has autism he had a great time it was not too loud or too many people. My other son had a great time as well he thoroughly enjoyed himself. I would recommend this place to anybody if you haven't been here before it's amazing lots of activities and good food and snacks to buy including beer. This experience has made me decide to have my children's birthday parties here they have great packages. Even if you're not looking for a party you can look at the package for daily or you can look at for monthly and the pricing is all very good.”

Urban Air Trampoline And Adventure Park

Closed until 10:00 AM

3800 US Hwy 98 N, Lakeland, FL 33809, United States

“The kids had a blast. We bought the ultimate pass and stayed over 4 hours. We could have stayed longer ,we just got tired. Lol. I am thinking of buying yearly passes great way to get the kids out of the house and get so much needed exercise. Access to the mall if you have some shopping to do. I would suggest eating before you go. Although the prices on the food isn't horrible between the food and tickets it was 150.00. it could be worse. If you go often it could definitely take a toll on your wallet. I would definitely recommend.”

Disney's Lake Buena Vista Golf Course

( 16 reviews )
Closed until 06:49 AM

2200 Golf Dr, Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830, United States

“Fun course in great shape. Fairways were smooth and the greens were fair. The bunkers had different amounts of sand in each bunker but were raked and manicured well. The rough more penalizing than most resort style courses which I personally enjoyed. Pace of play was great. We finished in 3 hours and 45 minutes in a Saturday. Would definitely go back and highly recommend.”

Oviedo Bowling Center

Closed until 10:00 AM

376 E Broadway St, Oviedo, FL 32765, United States

“Loved that they had pin ball machines! The food and service was great. The only reason I gave 4 star and not a 5 is because the bowling shoes that are given out don’t have grip on them so I was slipping the whole time I was bowling. I hope they improvise and invest in new shoes for guest.”
