“This is maybe the best restaurant in New Orleans. It has not quite 10 tables. Chef Brigtsen comes around to greet diners. The food is awesome. I had the seafood platter...not at all what you think it is. There was a filet of redfish topped with shrimp. There was an oyster with spinach. There were 2 scallops prepared differently. There was shrimp cornbread. Oy! My companion had sheepshead that she said was delicious. For dessert we had king cake bread pudding. Oy again!”

“Reserved a table for 2, even with reservations we still had to wait. Once seated it took a while for someone to acknowledge our table, a good 12 minutes. Once I server, Mona Lisa came she was very delightful & attentive. We ordered the fried green tomatoes with crab on top, Barbecue shrimp, Caesar salad with grilled shrimp, petite filet and macaroni and cheese. Everything was just okay, basic steakhouse food. The shrimp and tomatoes came out not hot at all, but still edible. I probably won’t be returning, they need to learn how to accommodate the crowds, wait time and food time.”

“Booked a private room to celebrate a special occasion. Was assigned a dedicated event manager who ensured every little detail was taken care of for a flawless event. This service as well as day of event was spectacular, waiter did an amazing job taking care of 20 guests. Table was decorated nicely and there were sushi rolls waiting as our appetizer. For the main course, we had a fixed menu consisting of NY Strip Steak, Mahi Mahi, or Chicken Roulade. There was also a side salad and sides of Potatoes & Vegetables. Most opted for the steak, but I personally preferred the Mahi Mahi. Steaks were cooked exactly as ordered. For desserts, we had a combination of Creme Brulee or Chocolate Cake. Overall, great service, nice ambiance, good food, and nice place to celebrate a special occasion.”

“My husband and I went to Charley G's for the first time for date night. We had a reservation and were seated immediately. The staff was so pleasant and informative, very professional. Charley G's is an extremely elegant and romantic restaurant. The only thing I had a personal challenge with was the menu. It is very elevated; I am not used to such an upscale menu. Every dish was unique and there were many things I had never heard of, like Drum fish, escargot, etc. The best thing we ate was the crabcake appetizer. It was amazing! I also enjoyed the macheaux and crawfish grits. My advice is to look at the menu online before going to get a better idea of whether or not it is for you. Personally, I'm glad that I went and will return again.”

“Hated to give this restaurant a 3 star. I actually had high expectations for our date night here. We'd been here in the past, maybe 3 years prior. It was quite nice then. We initially had cocktails before dinner, and the bar was pretty decent. We had a very nice waitress (Lida) who was accommodating. We ordered, and once we received our food, the presentation was nice. I ordered stuffed chicken breast and could not wait to taste it. However, that soon turned into disappointment. The outside of the chicken breast was barely warm, and the inside stuffing was cold (refrigerator cold). Of course, I didn't eat it and elected not to order anything else. Sadly, i probably won't eat here again.”

“Drove to Shreveport specifically to eat here and Sauvage was totally worth it. Great appetizers, we had the cauliflower bites and the egg rolls, but the entree was the real magic. The Schnitzel was perfectly prepared and the acidity in the slaw made the dish an 11/10. The strip steak with Brussels, fried egg and potatoes was prepared perfectly. Bread pudding for dessert was delish and so was their signature key lime pie that we took to go.”
