“Unfortunately, I wasn’t very impressed with my experience. I reserved a spot in advance from my phone, yet there was still quite a wait. Once I did get a table, service was quite slow to respond to me. They were busy, and I understand that, but I was close to wanting to leave because no one was even coming to my table to bring me a water after quite some time. I don’t know this for sure, and I’m only speculating, but it felt like bigger tables received attention, but the single person with a much smaller ending check (means smaller tip) was neglected. Once I was tended to, I ordered. The sales that came was quite lame. A $24 steak, and the salad had no cheese, croutons, cucumbers, nothing. I received wilted lettuce that was partially frozen, and dressing. That’s it. Was expecting more from $24 steak and a place that was nice. The Mexican cheese balls were pretty good. The steak was a bit tough, and dry as well. There was juice on the plate, so I could mop ghat up a bit, but not sure where it came from, because the steak itself was was fairly dry. The cheesy hash browns were ok, but again, it was cheese slices, instead of grated cheese. This is a low budget diner way to make cheesy hash browns. A nice steakhouse should be grating cheese, instead of using Kraft singles. It’s very possible that I could have a better experience on another trip, but the lame salad and cheap cheese option would still be there, even if the staff paid attention to me and the steak was tender and juicy. I’d be willing to try it again, but I’m not excited to, nor is it on the top of my list. Too many good places around that get my attention, but it’s not out of the question.”

“What a cool place. You pick your own cut of steak. Then they take you to the grill. Where you cook your own steak. Heat your sides up on the grill. It's a little pricey bit the food is good. You can make reservations or just walk in. Our server Lexi she was amazing. Thanks Rube's for a cool steakhouse experience.”

“We had our company Christmas dinner here with 12 of us. Our waitress was outstanding! Most of us had some kind of steak and I heard no complaints. I got the tomahawk ribeye which is ridiculously huge but delicious. Prices are up there but no higher than other places. A side is included plus the whole salad bar and they bring you some bread. Pretty good value for great food! I also like that it is carpeted so not too noisy. I plan to return.”

“Don’t ask for their email address and you’ll be fine. Terrific food! Very friendly. You can tell it caters to locals and travelers alike. Will definitely be back! “We stayed at the AmericaInn Wyndham and the staff here told us about the Grid Iron because they deliver. We called and ordered 3 chicken dinners. Dinners arrived quickly. Food tasted amazing, I wish we had this place close to home! Everyone we talked with was nice and helpful!”

“Ordered two carry out meals. Waitress calls back after placing our order and says that the cook forgot to make the one order but didn't know what we ordered. We told them again what we wanted. Got home and opened this. Everything was thrown together and mainly was eating burnt chips. Hardly any toppings. We order from here ALOT and I was not pleased with our experience today.”

“We traveled a bit outside of DSM for this one: The Rusty Duck - located in Dexter, just off of the historic White Pole Road. Upon entering, they’ve got their specials on a white board. We were able to be seated right away. We started with the Breaded Mushrooms. You can tell they were hand-breaded, and the ranch that came with them was most likely homemade - and DELICIOUS 🤤 In looking at the menu, I see they have multiple de Burgo options, but with ribeye. We both got salads with creamy parm (homemade) and baked potatoes. The salad was legit - dressing was mixed in, which I love. Crunchy flat croutons reminiscent of Latin King’s salad. Normally I don’t order a baked potato, but it just felt right. I’m glad I did because there is something to be said about a good old fashioned baked potato with butter and sour cream. Everything was fantastic, including the service. Dishes were cleared quickly, our drinks were never left unfilled - I can’t say enough about this cozy little place. If you don’t mind a bit of a drive (or an adventure, if you will) head out to Dexter for a meal prepared with love and gusto. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

“Rube's this isn't. With a little effort, this place could be much better. Rather than using a gas grill, like everyone has at home, it would be great to use charcoal. The steak quality is pretty good, but they don't make them look appetizing. The display case should be full of steaks... It looks much more appealing. If you can't fill it, then the display case should be much smaller. More attentive, quicker service would also be appreciated.”

“My husband and I went in for restaurant week on a Saturday around 8:30 p.m. They had a couple bigger parties and a few tables, but otherwise weren’t too busy. We were seated right away. Our server, Cephus, was great. They were able to recommend a nice drink for me and seemed to always be there at the right time. Our food came out timely, not waiting too long between courses but also not feeling rushed or overwhelmed. The food was really delicious. I was happy with everything that was brought out. My husband also enjoyed his meal. I felt like the value was worth the price for a three course meal, and would definitely be interested in going back and trying their regular menu. Don’t let the strip mall exterior being next to a Jersey Mike’s fool you, the inside was beautiful. Nicely decorated with a cozy, but upscale feeling. Overall a good night out for us.”
