“Great venue with ample staff and attentive service. Amazing looking venue, we sat outside on a relatively warm day, there were fans outside which made it cool enough. Food was delicious, we did the 2 course menu. Loved the addition of the bread, starter tasters and small dessert. Would recommend to anyone looking for a nice lunch.”

“We stayed at Mount Gambier for a night and came here for dinner and tried the eye fillet. Absolutely amazing! Would recommend it to go with the mushroom and bacon sauce. Perfect for couple or family to have dinner there. Love the interior set up as well. Booking does need to be made prior to coming to the restaurant.”

“Had dinner at Char Barossa during our weekend away in the Barossa. The food was spectacular, and they are very accommodating to dietary requirements. We ordered the shared platter for 2, which was absolutely delicious and they accommodated me as I am vegetarian. Although the restaurant got very busy, the service was still of a very high-level. All staff were warm and friendly.”

“The dessert menu was disappointing but I can’t complain about the friendly staff, pleasant ambiance and utterly delicious food. I loved the goats cheese cigar, the salmon avocado entree dish and the perfectly cooked steak with the yummiest sauce. If I had to fault something the meat was quite charred on the outside which wasn’t pleasant on the palette but still very tasty overall”

“Nathaniel ( think that was his name ) was the best waiter ever!! He was so friendly from the moment we walked in! Complimented us on our outfits, fave great suggestions for what to order on the menu. He constantly checked up on us if we needed anything and just his overall persona was lovely! He made us laugh and made us feel cared for! The food was really great no complaints! We sat at the bar & bar staff were lovely and accommodating! Been to Orso a few times and always great! Thanks for a great night 😊”

“Wow ! 4 course lunch was amazing. Everything was perfectly cooked, well balanced with meat and vegetables. The veal shank pie was sensational, arguably the best pie I've had in a very long time! The service was exceptional with friendly and efficient staff. Food arrived in quick succession with great descriptions of local produce. Non-alcoholic cocktails were delicious. Big fan of the Fino Vino shiraz. I'm definitely coming back for more.”

“My wife and I celebrated our one week of being Husband and Wife on Friday 27.10.23! We had the best night. It was perfect. Our waiter Kane was great and very knowledgeable. All the food we ordered was cooked to perfection. We ended the night with some drinks at the bar. Had a heap of fun with Nathan and Laura who I put into a competition of who could make the best cocktail, it was a tie… Henry also knows how to run a tight ship, thought he was the Manager! Cannot thank the entire team of how great our night was and we will definitely be coming back! Anyone wanting a great night out with great food and drinks and even better service, we would highly recommend visit the team at FishBank. Thank you again. If I could rate higher, you would get 10/5 stars!”

“Recommend the $35 Express Lunch menu that is available on Thursday's and Friday's from 12:00pm to 2:00pm. You get a main plus a glass of house wine, beer or a soft drink. I had the beef brisket and it was delicious. The service seems to be a little slow compared to when I visited there regularly between 2016-2018.”

“Came on a Friday around 12 and the cafe wasn’t too busy so it was easy enough to get a spot but took maybe 5-10 minutes to finally get someone’s attention for us to be seated. Not given menus so had to go get them ourselves. Took probably 20 minutes for someone to come and take our order which was a bit of a shock, and then another 20 for our coffee order to came out. Like I said, Friday midday and not very busy. At least not busy enough to justify the time it took for coffee to come out. Waiting aside, the food here was amazing. The portion sizes were HUGE haha. Definitely more than worth the price you pay. The quality of the food is fab. Lots to choose from and definitely would like to come back and try others. Hoping that the delay on service and coffee was just due to being understaffed or a mishap and is not regular service here because it would be a shame for that to be bringing down what was ultimately a pretty great spot to grab quality food.”
