“We dined here on 28 August 2023. The La Grotta is carrying a dress code, which we find very appropriate for a nice place like this. We arrived in our Lyft Lux, and even though it was a nice series 5 BMW, it still seemed small compared to the other cars there. No doubt that this is an upscale restaurant. We found our way into the building and down in the cellar, where the restaurant is located. Very nice atmosphere up front. The people in front of us got greeted by first name, so it is obvious that the locals are returning diners - which is always a good indication of a good restaurant. We were also well received even though we were first timers. We were shown to our table and immediately we were greeted by our main waiter. A vey nice, polite, knowledgeable, professional waiter who was not afraid to recommend a few courses. Two other waiters served us as well, and they were all of the same caliber. La Grotta has a full bar, so your imagination is the limit for what you want as aperitif. We chose an Aperol Spritze. Very nicely mixed. La Grotta has an extensive wine list with a focus on Italian wines but basically covering the world. The price range goes from about 50 USD for a bottle of wine to 1,000+ USD - so there is a wine for all sizes of wallets. We found a very nice bottle for about 90 USD. The menu is quite extensive covering all the Italian specialties you can think off. We had a difficult time choosing from the many delicious choices. With a little help from the waiter we however managed. We ordered each a starter and a main course - and we shared a dessert - a wonderful Tiramisu. We were lucky dining at La Grotta in the black truffle season - tasted superb. This is definitely a place to dine if you are in Atlanta.”

“Friends recommended us. Food was good & we enjoyed our birthday dinner. Until the bill the experience it was good except that the US uses magnetic stripe so our international credit cards were rejected. When we could not pay it all turned really sour. My wife went to a gas station to get cash while I stayed to sort things out. After I realized that I had my credit card authenticated for local use and the bill was paid. I then went to get my wife and when I returned to settle things I was abused and refused service by the owner. The staff thinking that I had not tipped them verbally abused me and so did the owner who did not take a moment to understand the real situation. Honestly that kind of prejudice is unacceptable and threatening to call the police, which he did in front of me, as he had “friends” on the police force typifies what is wrong with these type of restaurants. Many of my friends who live in Atlanta were horrified by this experience and agree that we need to rethink owners who really are abusive and perhaps too connected to the police .”

“Where to begin. We had reservation at 8:30 at booth but was seated at 9 and on terrace. I work at restaurant as well so understand that it can get busy. The only thing I don't understand is quality of food. From all we ordered - wedge salad and bacon were good. Shrimp cocktail was also pretty decent. -Oysters! Before opening they need to be washed. What we got was full of mud. - Steak. Just no! ordered med rare and got medium extra charred! - Fries was just a joke! Add some pic On the bright side server was super nice. And help with all our requests ☺️ But still I definitely won’t come back there again.”

“Probably in the top 3 best meal wife and I have ever had in a restaurant. Our server Kelsi was amazing as well. The atmosphere at KR is extremely inviting! Would recommend it to anyone who goes to Atlanta!! We had the spinalis and angel hair pasta dish with gelato for desert!”

“We had dinner here and really enjoyed it. My husband loved the salmon and veggies. I had shrimp and grits and it was giant. Definitely get the cheese added! My one complaint is they left the tails on my shrimp and I hate when places do that cause I had to dig through the grits to remove them. But the flavor was amazing and the shrimp were cooked perfectly. Kiddo got chicken fingers and sweet potato tots. The chicken was delicious, juicy and good quality. She liked the tots. Our waiter was excellent and made our girl feel special with crayons and a coloring book. Would come back and recommend.”
