“My husband and I went to The Smoking Goat on a quick anniversary trip to San Diego. Upon arrival, the entire staff was immediately hospitable and prompt. The interior decor was warm and rustic, and a nice contrast to the brisk December air. We both decided to skip the appetizers in order to save room for dessert, which I’m so happy we did! I ordered the duck, and my husband ordered the steak frites. The food arrived quickly, as it was a Sunday evening. My duck was probably the best I’ve ever had, and the sauce was acidic enough to cut through the richness of the bird. It was very well executed, and served at the perfect temperature. My husband’s steak was decadently tender, and they definitely don’t skimp on the crispy fries. At the end of our meal, we shared the goat cheese cheesecake. It was rich and tangy, but fluffy in a way not typical to traditional cheesecake. A very intriguing approach to the dessert. All in all, the attention to detail, and quality of both service and gastronomy was top tier. Thank you for making our celebratory dinner both special and memorable!”

“It was my hubby bday/graduation fr college. Absolutely his favorite restaurant. He loved everything. Appetizers were wagyu meatballs, and crab cake, which was Amazing. Waygu Steak with truffle butter, whiskey flight, 8oz lobster tail n the lyonise potatos. Truffle fries. Everything was superior! Great customer service.”

“Our servers Evan and Matt were fantastic. Our bartender Luis hand delivered drinks when he had time, which is unheard of for bartenders. Every item of food we had was fresh and cooked perfectly. I work in the industry, and was very impressed with everything from service, to food, to bathroom cleanliness, to crust on the cheesecake, to shape of the knives. The house bread was like a cloud of beautiful buttery dough that effortlessly separated when even gently pulled. The booze got me feeling like Edgar Allen Poe right now, but I’m being serious. Will definitely be back.”

“Go for the nostalgia and martinis but not for the steaks. Absolutely too expensive for a steak that I could’ve made better at home. The quality of meat just wasn’t good. The house salad is drab with just lettuce, croutons, and 1 cherry tomato. The salad dressings are good. Live music is good. Such a shame the food is not.”

“Well, i haven't had a good filet mignon like the one i had here in 20 years thender juicy tasty fantastic steak , vegetables were fresh and just enough crisp the only thing i would change is the salad dressing i would make it a house made dressing not something out of a bottle. Service was outstanding took very good care of my needs. All and all if you want a GREAT steak go to Crown Bistro”

“The restaurant was beautiful and classy! The menu was just the right size without a lot of unnecessary extras. The steaks were of the highest quality I've ever experienced anywhere! The seafood was delicious and cooked to perfection. All of the additional sides were outstanding as well as the cocktails! Money well spent...definitely going back!!!”

“I had an amazing experience at Dobson in San Diego. The Prime Ribeye I ordered was cooked to perfection—exactly how I like it. The house bread served with butter was a delightful addition to the meal. To complement the flavors, I enjoyed two local IPA beers. Our server, Lino, provided exceptional service throughout. I can’t say enough good things about him. Overall, a fantastic dining experience that I would highly recommend.”

“We were celebrating our Anniversary. We chose the Associate, Parker house rolls, creamed Spanish, asparagus and shell Mac. They were exquisite. The steak was so tender and juicy. Everything was perfectly done. We chose the bananas foster cheesecake for dessert and this was the best piece of cheesecake I’ve ever had. We will def go back”

“The atmosphere is great The food wasn’t neither were the drinks The skinny margarita claims to be made with agave but I can easily tell there was simple syrup in it, u can easily know the difference. The people who work there are nice, our group just didn’t get a good feel for the drinks or food. It’s nice to sit outside and listen to music The drinks are about $17-22 each appetizers about 10-15 so it’s not going to be for the ones who are looking for an economical spot. Seems like you’re paying more for the place and atmosphere than the food”
