Woodward
4.6
( 16 reviews )

134 Sports Camp Dr, Woodward, PA 16882, United States

“If your child is an avid gymnast, skateboarder, BMX rider, or pro scooter rider, Woodward Camp in Pennsylvania will be a perfect summer camp experience. The staff is enthusiastic and you can tell they want to be there, working with the kids. Sleeping accommodations are very rustic and spartan so don't expect anything fancy. The facilities for all the sports, however, are state-of-the-art. The camp also has other offerings and other campuses. Their website will have all the information.”

671 Sand Hill Rd, Pequea, PA 17565, United States

“It was fun tubing down the river. Nice and relaxing. Water was on the low side so it took about 2 hours. If it was higher it would have been faster. They are really good at the shuttle service with fast pickup and drop off timing. The beer and food is reasonably priced. Good place for kids as there are all sorts of games to play and fun in the water. Cheers!”

Hickory Hollow Campground

( 8 reviews )

176 Big Hickory Rd, Rockwood, PA 15557, United States

“Can't say enough about this campground. The check-in process was very easy. The workers at the campground were pleasant and very helpful to all the campers. Per the locals, we experienced a microburst storm that knocked out the power and water. The crew worked hard to get both back on after the storm. Kudos to the staff of Hickory Hollow Campground. Beautiful and most relaxing campground.”

Roxborough Ymca

( 8 reviews )
Closed until 07:00 AM

7201 Ridge Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19128, United States

“Despite not having the largest equipment selection, they've managed to include everything necessary for a complete workout. The compact size of the equipment is actually a plus, as it makes the gym feel more spacious and less intimidating, especially for beginners or those looking to focus on specific fitness goals. What truly sets this gym apart is its cleanliness. I've been to several gyms, but none compare to how meticulously this one is maintained. The staff is constantly cleaning the machines, ensuring a hygienic and safe workout environment. This level of attention to cleanliness is rare and highly appreciated, especially in current times. Speaking of the staff, they deserve a special mention. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with genuine warmth and friendliness. They are always ready to assist, whether it's about using the equipment or offering fitness advice. Their welcoming nature contributes significantly to the overall positive atmosphere of the gym. Another aspect I love about this gym is that it's never overly crowded. It's a relief to not have to wait for machines or feel rushed during workouts. The peaceful environment allows for a focused and uninterrupted exercise session, which is a big plus for those who prefer a more relaxed workout space. In conclusion, if you're looking for a gym that balances quality, cleanliness, and a friendly atmosphere, this is the place for you. It's perfect for those who value a clean, welcoming, and non-intimidating environment for their fitness journey.”

“A lovely park, even off season. A few cute trails (Lost Turkey trail, and Chappells Field trails are recommended), a campground, a regional pool, picnic areas, and much nature. Could use a bit more parking close to the trails, but overall a great place to hike, camp, walk or run.”

( 8 reviews )

Black Rock Retreat
4.5
( 10 reviews )

1345 Kirkwood Pike, Quarryville, PA 17566, United States

“The non-accessible showers take away two stars. Showers with attachable shower benches that could easily collapse or otherwise put the person at risk, and step-over (as opposed to walk-in) showers belie the very definition of accessibility (and the grab bars that end up serving as essentially wall decor). There are also some other not-exactly-ADA-compliant features (e.g., What is the deal with putting the apparently-accessible rooms with simply the handheld showers in the basement? Are those of us with disabilities not as welcome as everybody else? Those of us with disabilities don’t inherently have intellectual disabilities, and many of us can understand subtle messages. I hope that PRR was not sending the message that those of us with disabilities ought to be excluded from everybody else.). I can’t imagine that BRR would want to signal to the world, “We do the bare minimum to meet the requirements of the ADA, despite that Jesus said to love our neighbors and (through Paul) that love fulfills the law.” I’m a Jewish Christian in Maryland, and I attend a church there. I can’t imagine that most non-believing Jews and non-believing gentiles—whether resident in Pennsylvania or elsewhere—would look at BRR and not think, “They communicate that they believe that Jesus of Nazareth is the Messiah and called us to bear one another’s burdens?” If BRR Is truly going to be a place of retreat for Christians and of testimony about the Gospel to Non Christians, it needs to do better.”

Camp Fitch Ymca

12600 Abels Rd, North Springfield, PA 16430, United States

“Went for a weekend camp with a group and the kids loved it. Lots to do including: archery, rifles, bb guns, rock wall, pony rides, candle making, pumpkin carving, hiking, skipping rocks on the beach of Lake Erie, and of course making s'mores by the camp fire.”

Resica Falls Scout Reservation
4.2
( 10 reviews )

1200 Resica Falls Rd, East Stroudsburg, PA 18302, United States

“Beautiful place. All the fencing that was put up somewhat recently is disappointing and takes away from the view, but it's understandable why it's there. It took me 5 years to discover there's hiking trails. I'll be going more often”
