“Handy, local and prices often on par with Super Store! Hope the community continues to support. Was shame to lose Extra Foods on Broadway because locals shopped big box. Even if you "load up" at big box every week or two, sure nice to have fresh bread, and veggies/meals that are not frozen available in local area. Cheap, easy with good parking, affordable produce, and ok selection for small store. Would hate to lose it and have to run into Superstore for a jug of milk, loaf of bread and some veggies.”

“Deli is great if you can find anyone working the counter. 4 times now I have found rotting fruit out on display. Prices are high but can find some good deals if you look. Staff is really awesome!”

“Safeway is basically a nice grocery store. You can get anything grocery fresh and is always available. You can get your drinks, drinking water and also cards for different occasions. There are indoor and outdoor flowers available. The parking lot is also wide enough with special allotments for customers on wheelchairs.”

“This is a nice store in my neighbourhood. All the staff are friendly and helpful. Pretty good selection of everything. Always some good deals to be found here. I've bought plants a few times in the spring when they are available. I have never encountered any long lines at the cashier. There is usually boxes available by the front to pack your groceries. Prices here are generally lower for most things than Co-Op further down 33rd.”

“Bad customer service by the cashier. I have experienced it twice . First of all judgemental and secondly today the lady was so fast and repeating herself again n again although I was keeping the groceries for her to scan. She pulled the cart towards her which is so humiliating and to note there were no customers waiting after us . Time:12:30 , Nov23 . Then after the payment she stood up facing her back towards us after my husband told her to slow down. I guess it’s the attitude she shows towards immigrants. They need to be trained. It’s a good store but these behavioural issues from a few cashiers make it not so welcoming”

“We visited this store first time during our visit to Saskatoon. We bought over $500 equivalent items. They have a very good collection of South Asian traditional clay pots and decorative items. Special spices box is $20 which is very good for spice storage. Lots of fresh Indian vegetables, herbs, spices, oils and other ingredients are available in this store. This place is neat and clean. It was very busy at the time we shopped there. Staffs of this store are very friendly and helpful. They offer help few times. We purchased very fragile items, they packed it nicely. We travelled over 900 km and these items are intact. Parking lot are available in front of this store. Highly recommend other to try this store.”

“Unfortunately our experience wasn't Great. Store lacks customer service. None of the employees were friendly or asked for anything if we need assistance with. There was an in-store security guard right on our shoulders it was very annoying not that it was Security guards fault but haven't seen that in other stores. Loss Prevention does it discreetly but every aisle every turn bumping into guard, come one its an overkill. South area is not like downtown where theft incidents are common. Might stick with Walmart and Costco next time.”

“Prior to no frills opening in meadow lake the extra foods store was basically a one stop shopping outlet. As there is no larger box stores this was really welcome. There was a large selection of seasonal decorations and furniture. Cards a large pharmacy section with good selection of all hygiene products as well as hair dye etc fresh bakery buns fresh deli pizzas all at reasonable prices. The northern communities would make their monthly trips to town and load up 2-3 carts full of goods to take back home. The hardware stores and variety stores in town fill part of the need. However now I am finding the selection quite poor and I am being forced to order online or make 2-3 stops to get what I need. As I live out of town and make it in once every week or two this makes for a very long day. The store is bright clean and lots of coolers but I am finding it more and more disappointing.”
