20745 Stevens Creek Blvd, Cupertino, CA 95014, United States

“Way too many outs. Safeway and walmart don't have this many out of stocks. Just added photos from my visit today. For scanners in a row that don't work. No shopping carts available...I went back to the lot to get one. Did my shopping... carts still out. But in the lot there are many. This store does not care if you shop there. No carts. No way to do a price check to see if the item is on sale. Lot littered with the missing carts. Another update - added new picture of the empty cart area. This store can't even get the basics right like a cart for a customer. Update 102923... carts always out, self checkout all down, 1 cashier... no one cares.”

“I like to check this place out every so often as they have many specials on various products. Whether it's closeouts, close to expiring, or just overstock. It's a good idea to browse the store once in a while.”

“Located in the mall. They do have their own entrance area if you don’t want to deal with the mall. The food court is nice. We grabbed some small items as snacks and they were delicious. The store is also super clean as well.”

“We came here via recommendation from a friend who lives in San Jose. Before that, we always take grocery trips to 99 Ranch markets, in any store of the are we’re close at the time. This store was mediocre. There’s produce area, meat area, dry products, canned goods, and beverages. There’s no bakery or hot food deli area though. It’s like Vietnamese market with some mixup from Spanish. There’s 3 languages there: Vietnamese, English and Spanish. What we found good about Lion market was they have a variety of vegetables that is familiar with Chinese and Vietnamese cuisine. However, you cannot store them for long periods. For example, I bought some bean sprouts but they became rotten pretty quick. All of them. The result, I threw them all. The same goes for other veggies. Some has starting to have rotten parts. The meat was okay, but some have questioning color. Thus, I only bought 2 packs of meat. I found some Vietnamese products that has sales promotion, cheaper than other supermarket brands, but some products are higher. The worst part was they don’t accept Apple Pay or Tap. We have to use physical cards. That’s okay if the swiping function works. When we paid, the swiping function wasn’t working. The cashier told us to use the inserting function and input our pins. My husband declined and paid with cash. Later, my husband explained to me in the car that their old model card reader seemed to be broken and manual fixing with clear tapes. He worried about the security of the system, so he’d rather use cash. We’re not fond of carrying big cashes with us and always try to avoid cash only shops unless necessary. Now, good thing is that we don’t purchase much this time.”

“I am new to the Morgan Hill area and I was happy to found out a Target here. What surprised me the most was that it has startbucks AND pizzahut. It is not that common to find both. The pizzas are prepared ahead of time and added as first come first serve technically. Regarding just the Target store, it has good inventory and the season/holiday items tend to be out a week later compare to other major stores. Which sometimes is good as increases possibility to catch items that run out of stock fast. I think this is a good store and I will definitely continue coming here.”

Safeway

1750 Miramonte Ave, Mountain View, CA 94040, United States

“On August 21st, 2023, I had a negative experience at Safeway on Miramonte, which stood out against the others. It made me reflect on the many microaggressions I've experienced every time I've shopped there. Since I'm a regular shopper at that location and have become familiar with many employees, I've noticed they no longer eye me up and down or follow me around the store. However, a small Hispanic lady did not warm up to me. But who cares? Everyone isn't going to like you. I was working and saw an associate who happens to also be African American at another self-checkout machine. When I noticed him, the lady watched him like a hawk as he bought his chips and a soda. I had fifteen items. When I approached the machine, she positioned herself against the back wall less than two feet away, with no social distance at all. Although extremely uncomfortable, I let it slide because I was masked up and only had fifteen items. As I scanned my items quickly, machines beeped as other customers rang up their items and needed help. The little lady kept running around, returning to my personal space damn near out of breath each time. I scanned some vegetables that the machine did not recognize, and it asked for assistance. She acted as if she couldn't see me, even managing to look over me, until I spoke. With a huff and a puff, she moved to the machine, pressed buttons with much attitude, and pulled up recordings of me scanning and putting things on the scale. She started looking and comparing the items on the scale, shook her head, and said she couldn't help me. I explained that she could count the items or look them over, but I needed her to clear the machine. She told me no, saying that I was stealing. I explained that I was a shopper and that it was not my money. I have no reason to steal while spending other people's money. I asked to speak with a manager, but she said no and walked away. I pulled out my phone, and she flipped her badge around and started running away as I snapped pictures. I followed her to the customer service door, where she ran inside and told another guy I was stealing. I explained to the male worker that I was a personal shopper and could not check out because she said I was stealing. I requested to speak with a manager and to pay for my items so I could continue working. Another employee happened by and asked what was going on. I again requested to speak with a manager and was told she was in a meeting. She walked me over to the self-checkout machine I was using, pressed a few buttons, and told me I could pay for my order. She apologized and told me the manager would contact me because Safeway "does not condone that behavior." She acknowledged knowing I was a gig worker and always seeing me. It has been over four months, and I am still waiting to hear from Safeway's management. I avoided the Safeway for a while and went to other Safeways when I could. I've since been back and seen all the people involved, but I have yet to figure out what I have done to this woman. She clearly remembers me and has the same attitude each time. She is very respectful and even chatty when it comes to other customers of other races, but when it comes to me, she is a ball of silence, rolled eyes, and exhales.”

“Great selection of items for household and clothing. A surprisingly large selection of brand new items. I looked mostly in women's slacks and jeans, they were arranged between markers that are marked S, M, and L - the items were not well sorted for size.”
