“We usually like this place but today it was bad. Food is not bad. However there was an overwhelming number of flies in the restaurant. Literally everywhere , including on dishes, food and utensils. The prices are higher than other similar places so you would expect better atmosphere. If that’s how it is in guest area , it makes me nervous to think about the kitchen.”

“A good location if you enjoy eating your meals in the dark. But, if you’re like me and enjoy seeing your friends’ faces, then it’s not quite the atmosphere for you. Aside from the table lamp, it was really hard to see during the evening. Honestly, the three stars is suffice for a regular sushi spot with nothing out of the ordinary. Service was pretty average too, aside from being pressured into ordering quickly. The edamame isn’t recommended, unless you like sautéed spicy edamame. It was a nice kick in the first few bites, but then became overbearing after.”

“We went for lunch for my shorties birthday and we were all very happy with this place. First time coming as our regular place was closed. This location was worth it! My spicy tuna was solid, but my little dudes tuna avacado roll was fantastic! I got the veggie hibachi and was it was great needless to say had left overs for dinner. My daughter had the steak which was cooked right and was good meat, my older son had the chicken which was also good. Very impressed and satisfied.”

“I had the fried oysters with spicy Kani sushi appetizer, loved it! Deb had the Pork Gyoza, better known as pork fried dumplings, they were wonderful, love the dipping stuff. I had the combo hibachi chicken and lobster tail. Everything was perfect, hot and sweet Sriracha sauce made everything better for me. Deb had the General Taso's chicken with white rice, very good, huge chicken pieces. The vegetable stir fry was very good.. The fried rice and soup were awesome. The iceberg salad with that wonderful ginger dressing is so yummy. Great attentive service and the atmosphere rocked. I totally recommend!”

“I've been eating here since the old location! The restaurant is beautiful and very clean. The service is always great! May is the sweetest! We started with a scorpion bowl - so yummy. For the appetizer, we ordered fried vegetable dumplings. We also ordered sushi. The spicy crab and for the first time, I tried the Blue Dragon roll, its spicy tuna with asparagus on the inside, and crispy lobster salad on the outside.. wow, was it delicious! Also ordered a side of pork fried rice. The best around! Everything is always fresh and delicious. Love this spot!”

“My family did Christmas dinner here. It was a prefix menu, but there were plenty of options. Loved the Truffle Lobster pasta and the Halibut. Honestly, all 3 courses were well presented with spectacular flavor. The decor was amazing! Loved the patio with the football games on. And the fireplace was so sexy with extra flair. Cannot wait until Summer by the pool to do it again.”

“I've been to plenty of sushi places and Japanese restaurants in Connecticut, but I must say Hanami takes the cake for me! From appetizer to entree to dessert, the food was fresh and flavorful ranging from classic/creative takes on sushi to the comforting taste of ramen and choices of toppings. Compared to the other places I've been to where they go over the top on some dishes, at this place, I could taste the quality elements of each roll joined together to create a balanced blend of flavors. Not only that, the staff were extremely friendly, taking care of my party and I to ensure that we would have a loving fine dining experience through their customer service. They've certainly met our expectations and more coming from a family restaurant doing their best to ensure your time with them is first rate. Anyone who wishes settle down to enjoy fresh, innovative, umami Japanese Cuisine in Clinton, Hanami is the place to be.”

“We ordered sushi take-out here and like all of our rolls. The chef specials are really fun and unique! Our take-out order did take longer than what we were originally told (50 min instead of 35) and they have a B-rating from the health department. I would also recommend making a reservation for hibachi, we saw a couple of families come in without reservations and there were no available spots anymore.”

“The Little Kitchen is one of my favorite restaurants in CT. We live 50 minutes away and we make the trek a few times a year because i crave their soup. They have a chicken coconut soup that has lotus beans and is the tastiest soup! On our last trip we brought a friend who was equally pleased with their food. We ordered appetizers, soups and dinners and we were very happy and content. Make the trip. We have gone back several times since my review and i have not changed my opinion. They still get 5 stars and i have to add...they have the BEST crab Rangoons i have ever had.”
