“We had a fun team day. We were 13 workmates from under 30 to over 60 years old and we all had a good time. I was surprised by how quickly you learn how to throw an axe. Staff (Seth and J) were friendly and put a lot of effort on cheering us up.”

“Show up 15 minutes early One of the strangest activities available, period. Was it worth it? Yes I do believe it was. Was it my favortie experience in Queenstown? No it was not. For that I would highly recommend the paragliding. How to describe this. It's different from anything. Part jet-ski, part fighter-jet, part submarine. It begins when you squeeze into the back of one of these things with a pilot up front. Wearing headphones (it's quite loud) you proceed skipping over the lake out into deeper water. The view is mostly to the sides and there's not much to see as the spray goes on the 'cockpit' and the pilot's back is taking up your forward view. They take gopro footage of you so you can use that later. It gets warm in there so the driver stops 3 times to air it out. It's fun to go on the side as the water covers the cockpit and you can see underwater. There isn't much of a view until you get to the shallow er part of the lake but even so there isn't much to see. The most unique manuever happens when the pilot dives under water at which point the pressure increases inside the copckpit prompting the rider to want to equalize their ears. As you dive deeper the bouyancy of the craft eventually wins or the driver cuts power. Either way the thing leaps up out of the water like a whale breaching and flops back down. This can be a soft of a hard landing so I would not recommend this to anyone with back issues. All in all would I do it again? Probably not but I'm glad I had a chance to experience this strange and unique opportunity. The whole thing lasts around 15 minutes so it's a quick tour.”

Battle Hill Farm Forest Park

“One of our favourite campgrounds! A large field with very spacious campsites surrounded by a forest and river. The highlights are bonfires, swimming in the river, tree swing, lots of great mountain bike tracks, feeding eels and going to see glow worms at night. Toilets only but well maintained. We have so many great memories from camping here over the years, and it's close enough to the local towns to get supplies while still being remote and surrounded by nature. Lovely and dark at night, no crazy streetlights, meaning no light pollution. Definitely worth staying and experiencing all it has to offer.”

“The staff and management are the worst I have ever seen. Please just go somewhere else. Overcharged for everything. Rude and unhelpful. Dirty and unwelcoming. Rural dumb brain dead... I will always remember how horrible you made my experience. Thanks again.”

Glenfield Road, Glenfield, Auckland 0629, New Zealand

“I am glad we chose this place last Saturday. It was really a great walking trail that offers so many different walks for different folks and you can choose a long or short trail or you can do all. The bush was lush, little stream running inside. Mu mates and I truly enjoyed it. Good for hiking, dog walking, mountain biking or simply enjoying the fernery and big trunked kauris.”

Freyberg Community Pool

“Very disappointing pool. Poor staff training and obvious lack of staff morale. They are very rude and culturally ignorant. I was told the pool closes at 7 pm. At 6.30 pm on 5th May 2022, the changing room for children is closed because the staff needs to finish early and go home. I was directed to use the adults changing room to change a child that is under 4. The adult changing room has no privacy, so I took my children home in their wet swimming wears. My son called his behaviour silly, of course, it was silly. The staff member is more interested in leaving work early than following the time set for their operations. On a different note, I was told children cannot swim in the empty space while the swimming lesson is ongoing. On different visits, I noticed that children were swimming in the same space that I was told children are not allowed to swim when lessons are in progress. It was clear to me that the unruled staff member is racially ignorant and have no sensible justification for his behaviour. Overall, I think the poor quality is a result of poor management who could not provide its employees with basic training, attract sensible job applicants, and support the service they promised to provide for 20 minutes of weekly training for $15. Is indeed appalling as one of the other reviewers here stated.”
