601 University Dr, San Marcos, TX 78666, United States

“Great place to access the water and float. Bring your own or go to lion's. As long as it's not too busy the water is usually really nice. Avoid holidays at all costs. MLK weekend was hell and a uninterrupted sea of bodies. But it's usually nice.”

If this ain't livin, I sure don't know what is! WOWWWEE! TOTALLY AMAZING! Everyone was EXTREMELY HELPFUL and POLITE! The place is clean and DEFINITELY worth checking into!”

Landa Falls
4.5
( 8 reviews )

133 Landa St, New Braunfels, TX 78130, United States

“The longest float on the Comal River starts here. Very nice folks. Not crowded on this Monday morning. They will pick you up at the end and return you to the beginning. The water is very low and it takes about 4.5 hours to get to the Garden Street Bridge where you can get out. If you go to Union St. Bridge which is last get out, it takes between 5 and 6 hours. Bring sunscreen, water and a way to secure your items when you go through the Chutes. The first one is very fast and my husband lost his glasses and hat. I found the glasses as I had a floating lanyard on them. Never found the hat. Recommend floats on your hats too. Will come back when water is higher.”

444 Tubing Company
4.6
( 10 reviews )

444 E San Antonio St, New Braunfels, TX 78130, United States

“We absolutely love 444! Jeremy is always a pleasure to work with and our favorite team member is Miss MJ! The customer service is truly outstanding! My family has been here twice in the last month (summer 2023) and will definitely be back every chance we get. 444 is the perfect place for families. We rent the cabana (well worth the money) and stay all day. The cabanas are great for families that want to have a break from floating and grill, while still having access to the water. Plus the kids can take a quick nap in between trips down the river. Can’t wait to come back!”

The Epic

( 8 reviews )
Closed until 08:00 AM

2960 Epic Place, Grand Prairie, TX 75052, United States

“The Epic stands by its name. It's DEFINITELY and epic place to be at. They have everything from a family friendly swimming area to a gym to rental areas to host your event. We rented the "Warehouse" spot for our daughter's graduation celebration on June 1st. Meghan was the coordinator for that and was the best person to help us. From the beginning she went above and beyond to make sure we understood what all entailed in our rental agreement and the services provided. She was the sweetest at making sure everything was ready for us upon arrival. I would definitely recommend the Warehouse venue for your event and I would definitely like to rent it out again. The only down side is the hours of operation for it, I think it would be awesome to extend the ending hours even if it's just by an hour later. But the view you get is amazing. ~Lea”

Persistent in her efforts to put him at ease, his instructor, Mikayela, went above and beyond. He received encouragement from her when he needed it, and she is endearing and hilarious. He is excited about swim lessons and feels content now.You two at the school are great, Lindsay and Jamie! You have been very amiable and encouraging! will definitely recommend others who are looking for a swim school for their child.”

J.e.r. Chilton Ymca At Rockwall

Closed until 07:00 AM

1210 N Goliad St, Rockwall, TX 75087, United States

“🏊‍♂️🏋️‍♀️📱👥📞📧🏢🚫📝🌳📚🏢 Hey everyone! Today, I wanted to share my thoughts on the J.E.R. Chilton YMCA location, and also delve into a bit of its history. The J.E.R. Chilton YMCA has been serving the Rockwell community for several years, providing a space for individuals of all ages to engage in various activities and maintain a healthy lifestyle. While the facility may be small in size, it offers a range of exercise equipment that is always clean and well-kept, ensuring a safe and enjoyable workout experience. One of the standout features of this YMCA location is its swimming program. Myron, the instructor, has been a pillar of the program for many years, ensuring that children receive the proper basic training in swimming. His dedication and passion for teaching are truly commendable, and he plays a vital role in instilling confidence and water safety skills in the young swimmers. However, it's important to note that there are areas that could use improvement. For instance, the young swimming coach seems to lack effective communication skills and often appears more interested in being on their phone rather than actively engaging with the swimmers. This can be disheartening for both the children and their parents, as clear communication is crucial in any coaching role. Moving on to the front desk staff, while they possess some skills and knowledge of customer service and handling, there is room for improvement. One noticeable issue is their cultural incompetence, which can make individuals from diverse backgrounds feel excluded or misunderstood. In a community as diverse as Rockwell, it's essential for the YMCA to foster an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome and understood. Additionally, the front desk staff often seem unable to make decisions to solve customer problems, instead redirecting them to someone who may not even be present at the facility. This lack of empowerment can be frustrating for members who are seeking prompt resolutions to their concerns. Furthermore, the facility's customer service approach of avoiding issues rather than addressing them directly is unexpected from a well-known chain like YMCA. Another aspect that needs improvement is the facility's policy transparency. When asked for a copy of their policy, the staff was unable to provide one. This lack of accessibility to policies can create confusion and uncertainty among members, who have a right to understand the guidelines and expectations of the facility they are a part of. Despite these areas for improvement, the J.E.R. Chilton YMCA is located in a wonderful neighborhood. The Rockwell community is known for its peaceful atmosphere and educated residents, making it an ideal location for a YMCA facility. However, it is crucial for the YMCA to adapt and improve its services to meet the needs and expectations of this community. By sharing my logical perceptions and experiences, I hope to encourage positive changes and improvements within the J.E.R. Chilton YMCA. Let's work together to create a facility that truly serves the needs of the Rockwell community, providing exceptional services and fostering an inclusive environment for all. 🌳📚🏢 #YMCA #CommunityMatters #ImprovementNeeded #RockwellCommunity”

“Don’t join this gym if you’re interested in using it for basketball. Been a part of big groups kicked off the court for “pickleball” even though there has never been anyone there to play. Wouldn’t even let me warm up/dribble while I waited on my gym partner with no other person on the court. Staff has been exceptionally rude. Cancelled my membership after years and years of being a customer.”

“Super nice facility But if you forget to bring water or want something to snack on better bring it yourself no vending machines, so if you kid needs something good luck.”

Moody Gardens Golf Course
4.3
( 8 reviews )
Closed until 07:00 AM

1700 Sydnor Ln, Galveston, TX 77554, United States

“I played here several years ago with my father and what a treat it was. Since then, the course has drastically declined. The bunkers were hardly anything of that sort, the fairways were very weathered, and the clubhouse check in was unwelcoming. I cannot justify the price tag of $74.99, the only positive is the true rolling greens. Charging a $10 fee for a ride along in a cart is also a rip off. The maintenance staff were very unobservant of players approaching despite efforts of giving a heads up, they also did not respect addressing of shots, following too closely, and talking while shots were being attempted. To be fair, the course is worth maybe $39.99 in shoulder season and should consider closing for winter months to look the way it should in spring.”
