Lake Ahquabi State Park
4.5
( 8 reviews )

16510 118th Ave, Indianola, IA 50125, United States

“We really enjoyed our stay here. The park was clean and well maintained. The restrooms and showers were clearly well taken care of. They have some walking trails that were also great. Most of the sites were electric only, with water spigots sprinkled throughout, but there are also full hook-up sites. For electric only, it was $20 a night. But, if you try to book starting on a Saturday, you have to book the Friday before, or it won't let you. If you have T-mobile, the service is very spotty at best. But, overall, not a bad place to stay. We'd stay here again.”

“I wasn't able to drive on the trails as they were much too messy with the snow, but the visitor center is amazing!! Absolutely amazing staff, really cool exhibits, and completely wheelchair accessible throughout. They even are working on setting up protocols so that visitors can borrow an all-terrain tracked wheelchair to explore the trails! I went this time to get my National Park Access Pass, but I will definitely be back again!”

“I visited Green Valley State Park in mid-September with 3 grandkids. I found it to be a lovely park. Many flowers were blooming, it was well-kept. We first stopped by the ranger station for information and a kind ranger gave the kids a little talk on animal furs and skulls. It was very interesting. Then we got a map of the park and started exploring. There are two different playgrounds, one at the campground and another one. We played at both. We also played at the beach with sand toys. My granddaughter loved the story pages along the trail. I would have loved to walk more of the trails but we did have a great time and I'd like to go back. The trail goes all around the lake but we only walked a short distance of it. It was very pretty and I think it would be a great place to camp. I also noticed some cute cabins.”

“One of the nicest ice rink and indoor/outdoor swimming facilities in the area. Other cities and towns should take notice.”

“Very nice, well run fitness facility. Has alot of SEP students on phones while "using" machines so workout doesn't flow well. Love all the classes so far. Pool classes have variety and represent several types of workouts. Great place to workout”
