“I bought an iFly experience for my 5 year old daughter for Xmas; while she had fun getting dressed up, she immediately said: “I don’t want to fly like a bird any more!” after her first flight. The main attraction at this place was “the customer service experience,” it was beyond incredible; like, every single employee worked hard to create an uplifting post flight experience for my daughter and someone even told us to come back on their dime whenever my daughter decided to take her second flight. I suppose that says something about our world since it’s hard to imagine another time when we’ve experienced this level of hospitality. Perhaps it was when our Delta Airline pilot invited our 4 year old into the cockpit and then she got her first set of wings!”

“This state park has a little something for everyone. It has plenty of hiking trails, although a lot of them you have to drive to. It has lots of spots for fishing and a huge beach. You can rent canoes, kayaks, and small boats. The shower building looks like it was redone not too long ago. Beatrice campground is quite a drive from the main campground and is very rustic. Most sites couldn't fit more then a tent but honestly that's what I liked about it. You really feel like you're camping in the woods at Beatrice. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because of the people flying down the road on their 4 wheelers at night and the kids doing burnouts in the parking lot.”

“I have been to other YMCA locations and this location has the best instructors anywhere. I go every single day and take several classes, I also use machines and walk the track. My husband is a member as is my daughter, her entire family, and my son. My grandchildren have taken swim lessons at the y. During the summer months it is louder due to the kid population but I believe the staff, for the most part, keeps them under control. They have an adequate daycare facility which was recently remodeled. Although I didn't notice an increase of activities available. They could use additional staff so the climbing area could be utilized more often. The pool is great but again they could use additional staff so that the water slide and water tree are open longer. I also noticed that each lifeguard seems to have a different set of rules for the water slide, they need to be more consistent so both children and adults know the rules.The splash pad is great, although it seems to cater more to younger children. My grandchildren have taken classes with me and have utilized kidstuff, the pool and the splash pad, they enjoy all areas. The Y also encourages members to volunteer for great programs like feed my starving children which we participated in.”

“They did not even pay for the gym, the tennis women leader was very condescending towards me. While this was happening, I saw the board of open gym times and it said open gym. Add another basketball court. There's always open Tennis courts. Also, teach your staff how to show respect towards others. Thanks. Would not recommend.”

“Absolutely love this Y! I've never been a YMCA member before, so I'm new to the whole organization. My husband and I joined because we needed a gym and the Lifetime down the street is on an 1000 person waitlist. What? To our surprise, we absolutely love the Y! It's busy but never overcrowded, the equipment is awesome, the staff are all lovely, there is natural light from huge windows everywhere. I'm obsessed with the fitness classes and their instructors (body pump and yoga flow are my usual). They have classes all day and you can just walk in anytime, no need to sign up. Diverse mix of people, ages, and fitness levels in every class, so I never feel out of place. The hot tub and steam are great (the steam is almost too hot, I can only stay in it for five minutes). The women in the daycare are super sweet and because it isn't overcrowded, our daughter (8 months old) gets one-on-one care! I'm a total super fan.”

“I have been a member of the Elk River YMCA for many years. But at the end of this month I will no longer be. I love to swim. That’s a big reason I joined the Y versus the other clubs with no swimming pool. But over the last year or so I have found myself unable to use the pool when I go. The YMCA subcontracted the pool to the elk River high school swim team. Don’t get me wrong I’m all for helping the kids but not at the expense of the dues paying members. The swim team gets the pool from 5:00 pm to close every Monday Wednesday and Friday. This goes on for months at a time. I work during the week so I can’t come that early. I have talked to YMCA management about my concerns and even offered solutions - like leave one lane open or have the swim team be done a half hour before close but I get blown off or ignored. I even asked the swim team once if I could use one lane for 15 minutes. There was plenty of room but all I got was an arrogant ‘nope we are using the pool. I pay dues there! Or at least I was. I should be able to use what I’m paying for. But they don’t care. I don’t think I’m being unreasonable here. So I’m done. It’s too bad too because it’s close to my house and it was a nice place.”

“We are preparing to host a golf tournament for the 4th consecutive year at Cannon Golf Club. The team there is fantastic to work with, the course is always in top shape, and the amenities are very good. We hear nothing but positive feedback from those who golf in the tournament.”

“I've written this once but will do again. They cancelled open skate on a sunday but did not update on their website. We drove from Chatfield so I could take my first time hockey player skating with his single mom who manages a store. The staff has chased me out of the rink for not using the right door after hockey practice. Thanks for letting my son skate as I paid for it. But this facility is poorly managed.”

“Office staff is overloaded. Was told we didn't have spots to then asked why we didn't pay deposits when we had all ready. Very unorganized. You pay per kiddo which is fine and per adult... then you pay for tubing at $12 per person per day.. at 5 people we paid $120 and they didn't even have enough tubes and had to wait forever. They didnt offer a discount if you had your own tube. 🙄 horseback was booked up and couldn't even get that. They allow outside community in which took up a lot of our fun in the campground with the pool (way packed) and tubing. We won't come back unfortunately.”

“I've been coming here for almost 15 years but after yet another price increase while offering less services and less convenience, I am done. When I first started coming they had tanning beds they were 24 hours, pretty much everything in and about the club was better. The competition is offering so much more for a better price now. I had hoped this would be my forever gym but they are getting ridiculous with their prices.”
