Closed until 12:00 PM

350 Drummond St, Carlton VIC 3053, Australia

“My favourite Mexican I have tried in Melbourne, thus far! Such great variety across both the food and drinks menus. Every dish was flawless, only the churros I would give a miss next time. Our favourite was the octopus sharing plate.”

Bodriggy Brewing Company
4.4
( 10 reviews )
Closed until 12:00 PM

245 Johnston St, Abbotsford VIC 3067, Australia

“My first impressions were of a spacious and unique setting for a brewery and bar/restaurant. The in-house brewed beers got good reviews from the group, and my red Shiraz gin was great. Parking is okay-ish if you are prepared to search the side streets. A much better option is the train, which has a station over the road. Well worth the visit for the vegan food options. I just wish that the noise volume could be lowered as I couldn't hear my table's conversations at all after about 19:45.”

Fonda Mexican Collingwood

236 Smith St, Collingwood VIC 3066, Australia

“First time eating at this place. Me and my 6 group of mates went there for lunch without a table booked. And it wasn't busy Customer service was excellent and fast. Staff was welcoming and friendly. Food was freshly made and yummy with reasonable price. Waiting time wasn't long. Restaurant was clean and vibe was good. Over all 9/10. Recommend it and definitely will go back.”

Carbon Mexican Woodfire
4.2
( 8 reviews ) $$
Closed until 03:00 PM

288 Bondi Rd, Bondi NSW 2026, Australia

“Upon entering the cute and aesthetic restaurant, we were greeted warmly and given the choice to enjoy the live music in the front or sit in a cost private setting at the back. It being a farewell dinner for some of the team members, we chose the latter. The food was simple yet elegant! They catered to our dietary requirements with patience and we were treated to some delicately prepared flavourful dishes! At first, the set menu appeared a bit seafood heavy but the ceviche and the fish were to die for 🥰 The cocktails were beautiful and if nothing else, I would definitely go to Carbon again for the drinks and the guacamole 😄”

Santa Catarina

Shop 1/152-156 Clarence St, Sydney NSW 2000, Australia

“Poor service by the restaurant hostess. Early 6pm, The lady (short blonde hair) said it’s fully booked. Fact 90% of the tables are empty, right side mini bar area is empty also. She didn’t even bother to check what time the tables are available. Fact is they open until late. Seems like she is not interested on extra profit for the restaurant. Skipping this restaurant. Service is as important as food.”

“Having visited Mexico City, we are well aware of the accomplished high end dining scene and how sophisticated their cuisine can be. Drawing inspiration from Sonora, a coastal state in Mexico’s north-west, chef Roy McVeigh offers this sophisticated and contemporary Mexican dining experience in Sydney. And, when you hear the resume of chef Roy McVeigh extends from Darley’s, Bathers Pavilion, Bennelong and Berowra Waters Inn, you know you’re going to be in for a treat. This kind of experience and refined skills, added in to his knowledge gained through travels, it results in a pure feast for the delights. The dishes had interesting ingredients, not commonly seen when dining out in Sydney, for example cactus. We had to try the tempura cactus tacos, which had a nice crunchiness and a good spice kick. We tried each of the tacos, which were all superb, very tasty in their own way. The chicken taco was another favourite with a surprising crunchy element, provided by crushed corn chips, this added some unexpected excitement, we also enjoyed the pumpkin. The Spicy octopus tacos, certainly were spicy, also had a nice smokey flavour and nuttiness. The mains were a surprise, with the Mexican flavours but also similar flavours to what you would have in aEuropean bistro. The roast duck carnitas was served with a bitter sweet hibiscus sauce, which very much reminded us of a plum sauce, and we very much enjoyed the salty, spice elements which enhanced the flavours. A basket of warm flour tortillas is served with the carnitas. The Rangers Valley wagyu rump cap was prepared well and served medium rare, and thickly sliced, sitting atop a Mexican bean charros sauce that was glistening and the umami flavours had us salivating. The sliced palm was soft and the dish also saw a scattering of raw mushroom that balanced it out well. To finish off, the dessert was a goats cheese cheesecake, beautifully creamy, with a lovely basil and raspberry granita, there was a hint of saltiness that balanced the sweetness of the granita. The tostada added a nice earthiness and some crunch. Whilst you’re there, grab a cocktail or two, even a virgin mojito as they all pair super well with the food. A cool vibe to the restaurant, where it has a painted roof over the pipes, trendy artwork and cacti, whilst an ambience of cool tunes playing. We liked meeting the chef and hearing about his perspective and passion.”

Tres A Cinco

3-5 Hosier Ln, Melbourne VIC 3000, Australia

“@tres_a_cinco 📍 CBD ✔️ Habanero Oysters ✖️ Prawn Tamale ✔️ Fish Taco ✔️ Quesa Birria ➖ Chicken Skewer ✔️ Tres Leches Tres a Cinco, a Mexican cantina and bar nestled along the iconic Hosier Lane in the heart of Melbourne's CBD, is the brainchild of the talented MoVida team and their seasoned Mexican chef, Sarai Castillo. It all started as a humble takeaway service named Comida Corrida, a creative endeavour that kept both herself and her international colleagues employed during the challenging times of COVID lockdowns. Now, it has evolved into a colourful, permanent establishment. 🇲🇽 The menu includes some of the chefs childhood favourites and the drinks list pleases the tequila lover featuring 8 different Margaritas and plenty of Mexican beers. pleases the tequila fans featuring 8 different Margaritas as well as a range of Mexican beers. 🍺 The Habenero Oysters were tangy, fresh and very spicy! The Fish Taco would have been perfect had the fish portion was a bit smaller. We weren’t a fan of the Prawn Tamale, it was unappealing and only had 3 small tiny prawns inside. Staff kindly took it off the bill when we enquired. The Chicken Skewer had lovely flavour but was dry. The Quesa Birria was very different to any I’ve had before.. it was served with something that more resembled a gravy than a consommé - and too small for dipping. It wasn’t crispy, the onion was on the outside, there was no coriander and very beef heavy. I still enjoyed it for what it was. 🙃 We finished with the Tres Leches cake, which was nice and light. The milk was served at the bottom of the plate rather than soaked through, would’ve loved more dulce and a bigger portion for the price. I loved the fit out, vibe and the service however with the food maybe my expectations here were set too high. Unfortunately nothing left us with a lasting impression. ⭐️ 3.2/5 💸 $$”

Beach Burrito Co. Bondi
3.9

252 Campbell Parade, Bondi Beach NSW 2026, Australia

“I simply love this place and this food, but today I got surprisingly happier while I was opening the leftover box I brought home. I couldn't finish my bowl, so I asked to take away, and the team nicely added some fresh tortillas to it. I think these small getsures make the business more than a business, so I came here to spread the kindness 😊”

“This cosy little place serves delicious burritos (especially the beef one), tacos and cocktails. The atmosphere is super chill and it was definitely the busiest spot in Daylesford the night we went. Would definitely recommend!”
