Passport Infiniti Of Alexandria

“I have to admit, when I recently traded in my Nissan for an Infinity, I was quite apprehensive. The Service Department at Passport Nissan was superb and over the years I had come to rely on their knowledge and professionalism. So being told I had to go somewhere else when I traded up was more than a bit concerning. Fortunately, my fears were unfounded. I just brought my car in to Passport Infinity in for some significant maintenance and was more than pleasantly surprised. I made the appointment with Lawrence in Service on Thursday and went over all the work needed and the cost. I came in the following Monday and everything was done ahead of schedule and not over the estimated price. And while I waited, Michelle in Sales saw to it I had some coffee and all my questions about the current Infinity line were answered. Other members of the staff came by to say hello as well. It was an enjoyable experience — something very rare when visiting a car dealer to have repairs done. Great service, professional attitudes, and friendly people. What more can you ask for? It looks like I’ll be a member of the “Passport Family” some many years to come.”

“My tire dashboard light went on for a year, and I tried to have it fixed by the dealer. And I had to take my car to the dealer many many times, but they could not figure it out. Luckily, I found this place and dropped my car off for half a day; they fixed the issue completely. I appreciate their knowledge and expertise, and have to mention that they are very polite. I already recommended them to my coworkers.”

“J&F Motors are exceptional! Charlie, the service manager is informative, knowledgeable and above all honest, a rare characteristics that are rare in the automotive service industry. I own an X-Drive 650i with an M-Sport package. In the past I received bad ( an expensive) advice about issues I experienced with my automobile. J&F Motors addressed these issues within a reasonable price range. I am more than satisfied with the quality of their work and I am planning to return for major brake/rotor replacements! J&F Motors will always be at the top of my list for repairs and maintenance for my BMW.”

Travis' Auto Repair

15185 Carrollton Blvd, Carrollton, VA 23314, United States

“We've been taking our Pontiac to Travis's for a couple years now based on a recommendation from a co-worker. Recently, we started taking our Mazda here to save money on dealership prices. I've always asked them to do a check on everything beyond the requested work to ensure that the Mazda is well-maintained. The last oil change/tire rotation they performed, I also asked them to perform a 150k mile check-up/maintenance and to verify the fluids didn't need a flush (because the car is 9 years old and a flush on any fluid had yet to be performed, which caused me some concern). They did the oil change (and I'm assuming tire rotation), changed the cabin air filter, and said everything else looked fine. That raised some red flags for me. Recently, I took it in to have them assess the shocks/suspension, O2 sensors, and the spark plugs because it had issues gripping the road in the rain, the check engine light was on for the sensors, and it struggled to get up to speed on the highway. They replaced the sensors, spark plugs, and the front strut assemblies. Seemed fine to me, except now the car started making a strange noise while driving, which was more apparent when braking. I took it back to Travis to have him assess and was told it was brake dust getting behind the pads - he blew it out but warned me it would likely happen again unless the brakes were replaced. I very specifically asked him if the pads needed to be replaced, or if this could cause damage to the rotors. I was assured the they were fine and it was not a problem. I drove home, but the noise started up again about 1 mile from home. After listening to this for a week, I took it to another shop closer to my house that was very highly rated by Google. I asked them to do the same thing I always asked Travis's - look at everything, tell me if there is anything else besides what I'm bringing it for. They said: * front and back brake pads/drums and rotors needed replacing * CV axels needed replacing (the tie rod end on one needed replacing as well during the work) * the fog lamp bulbs were burnt out (Travis's recently inspected this vehicle and passed it - I was not notified this was an issue at all during all the work they've done for us) * the brake fluid was low and needed a flush * the power steering fluid had a leak (there was NO fluid left - this was fortunately an easy fix of reconnecting the hose and refilling the tank, which the new shop did at no charge despite my authorization of the diagnostic fee) * the left rear tire was "bald" - the wires were showing * the alignment was bad * ALL of this was documented by the new shop with pictures as evidence After the discovery of issues with the Mazda from the new shop, my husband and I took our Pontiac into the new shop for an assessment since I didn't trust the work Travis's had done at this point. This is DESPITE the fact that Travis's passed this car for VA state inspection on 10/01/2023 (10 days ago). I asked the new shop to do the same thing - perform an alignment, which it needed, assess the check engine light - and do a thorough inspection to look for any maintenance issues. This is what was found: * the alignment needed to be done (which I knew, but Travis's never notified us of during the inspection) * the EVAP system had major issues throwing 4 codes and causing major vacuum issues * The O2 sensors were throwing codes and were on their way out * The fuel system needed to be flushed * The power steering fluid was "very dark" and needed a flush * the timing belt was wearing and due for replacement soon (not catastrophic) * The lower left ball joint was loose - NOTE: The mechanic at the new shop stated "I see this just passed inspection. This ball joint is incredibly loose. It should NOT have passed inspection." Pure NEGLIGENCE. * Additional concern from the new mechanic was that the "clutch is howling" and it is only a matter of time until it will give out. To be fair - this was an obvious issue that was noticed some time ago by my husband and I. I do not recommend this "repair" shop.”
