“A magical trip over and underground. We visited this wonderful garden on the last opening day of the year really not expecting much. We were surprised to find a new discovery round every corner. Beautiful plants, wildlife, mature trees, fairies and grottoes. It's a wonderland for adults and children alike. Open up your imagination and let it take flight! A big thank you to the staff who couldn't have been more welcoming and supportive. The small cafe came up trumps and met my allergy needs with scrumptious cake. A truly lovely time had. We will be back even though the garden is nowhere near home.”

“Sheltered bay with step access from the road. Good views of the impressive Kingsgate Castle building (not a tourist attraction), though the concrete sea defences below it detract somewhat from the natural beauty. The cave on the opposite side of the bay once connected the beach to the Captain Digby pub, but has suffered damage from collapses and is now unsafe to enter. No parking specifically for Kingsgate Bay, so best visited by a walk from nearby Botany Bay.”

“Glentress Forest, Peebles in Scotland. What a fantastic place to hold the UCI championship cycling. A well organised event with Park & Ride car parking in Innerleithen and a comfortable bus ride to Glentress (only thing was the bus drivers didn’t know what time the last bus was leaving Glentress!!). We had a brilliant time, and had a great view of the women & men jumping over the rocks. We hope it happens here in Peebles again perhaps next time!”

“Wow! What an amazing place. I have visited Lyme Regis many times, and until a friend told us about the Ammonite pavement I had no idea it existed. It is incredible with ammonites on the beach everywhere you look and then once you scramble across the rocks you get to the pavement. It is a protected site so you cannot take a hammer or chisel to any of the ammonites.”

“A cute little museum with lots of animals. Gives a good insight into the history of Bede and the Monastery nearby. Highly recommended for both kids and adults alike. You do need to buy a season pass (valid from Feb-Dec) which gives unlimited entry. Also some cute working cats onsite.”

“As members of the NTS we had a guided tour of the house. Our guide was very knowledgeable and also had a good sense of humour. The house was amazing with some beautiful views of the gardens and Montrose basin. After our tour we had soup and tea in the Cafe which was lovely before having a walk through the grounds on the various trails. Well worth a visit.”

“We booked a party for my daughter here and she and her friends had a lovely time. Staff were helpful and the place was nice and clean. The only thing was it was a bit cold in the venue and I didn't like how we were told to pack up as they were handing out the ice cream to the kids. There was a delay in getting the pizzas to the tables so wasn't our fault but was told to hurry up as they had another booking. I thought this could have been handled a lot better.”

“Absolutely magic place. We got there a bit too early, so unfortunately we couldn't experience the feeding event, but we still managed to get some belting shots of Red Kites. Medium sized carpark next to the visitors centre and toilets. There are activities for the children, such as pond dipping and a mud garden. There are two hides. We only experienced the one at the hilltop, it was large and well kept. It could easily fit 25+ people. Binoculars and bird reference books available to use. Staff are pleasant and eager to talk about the birds, which was very welcome. There is an honesty box for you to make donations and payments, preferred method seems to be cash, but they do have a card payment system at the visitors centre. Please be careful when coming off the A9 and going onto the smaller roads. They are very narrow and passing other vehicles can be a struggle, so please keep your speed low and keep your wits about you. I would definitely recommend it and I hope to get there again in the future.”

“What an amazing little gem of a coffee / snack restaurant . With a beautiful little garden at the rear and plenty of seating, you can't go wrong. We ordered food and coffee and wasn't disappointed, it was well worth the price and tasted fantastic. I would definitely recommend this place for somewhere to stop and take a break. Also to add to this post, Digbeth Dining was on site, and it remained dry . Great choice of street food and an array of beverages to choose from.”

“We parked at the original car park as it was late in the day and the new visitor centre was closed. A short walk to the Falls and Gorge, unfortunately its midge season, be prepared 🦟 to get bitten, but that's Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 A stunning waterfall and spectacular Gorge. Make your way to the lookout, don't look down if you're afraid of heights.”

“Spent nearly all day on the grounds despite the heat, walked up to the beach, around the walled gardens which are fabulous. Stopped for homemade cake and coffee at the café. Didn't go in the Abbey as we have a dog but did go into the little exhibition one by one downstairs, who knew how many movies made use of the grounds and buildings.”

“A great little beach which has sadly been neglected and despite signage is still technically accessible, as such the danger is not clear, the path is ‘closed’ but accessible, the beach a appears to be open. The position of the beach often means is littered by debris from the sea. Sizeable nearby free public car park with free public toilets (be warned) and on occasion, though not this time the odd ice cream . There is a cafe which I have never frequented. If you like a walk it’s right on the south west coast path. I hope the the path is properly fixed and the beach made secure and truly accessible once more!”

“We've had a great afternoon with our 20 months old boy. He really enjoyed to feed the animals so do we. Not a big farm but enough to walk around with little one and looking at the animals and birds. Great management with social distancing and hands sanitising all around the farm. It's a nice coffee shop and ice cream on the site.”
