Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad
4.7
( 8 reviews )

5234 US Hwy 285, Antonito, CO 81120, United States

“This was the main objective of our trip out west! The opportunity to ride the Cumbres and Toltec Railroad. What an experience! We believe all railroad travel is good and fun, and ride trains whenever possible, but we are not train enthusiasts or have any knowledge of trains. We think it's fun and enjoyable and this train was all fun, total enjoyment. We had tickets in the parlor car with great views out our window that lowered for fresh air. We were greeted with a nice danish, a bowl of fruit and coffee if wanted. Our car had a dedicated, knowledgeable guide who not only pointed out interesting sights and answered any and all questions, she also served any drink requests that we had, including cocktails if that is what you might desire. The train chugged thru the southern Colorado high plains as it made its way to the mountains and then weaved thru beautiful mountains and valleys with 2 tunnels. The vistas were more beautiful than I could describe. The scenery was breathtaking, and I was humbled at the beauty that lies within our incredible country. A spectacular day of weather on this spectacular train ride and followed with a smooth and comfortable bus ride back to our original departure point! Highly recommended!”

Open until 05:00 PM

105 9th Ave E, Cordele, GA 31015, United States

“Love to see that a Short Line Railroad still survives to carry freight during the week and passengers on the weekend and special days. We made the trip from Cordele on the 4th to Plains for the Plains, Georgia Fireworks Display. A most enjoyable trip. There was food available on the return trip, simple things like burgers, dogs, chips, etc. Just something to fill the gap for the hungry. It was a great escape from Atlanta and we really enjoyed our visit.”

“We are resort owners and love to stop at little places like this. Was very pleasant. Very well laid out and the cabin was perfect. Enjoyed the hot tub, right out the back door. Under the full moon also! It was a short stay, but would love to come back for a week.”

A-line Dia

Closed until 04:00 AM

617 Terminal Rd, Denver, CO 80249, United States

“The A line is a great way to get to and from the airport. The part that is so incredibly disappointing is all the homeless camps with the piles and piles and piles of trash along this route that Denver allows to happen. We have thousands of visitors to Denver that ride the A line and this is the first impression of Denver that they get. In no way does this go against the RTD A line, but the lack of leadership in Denver.”

“Review is on the Sante Fe Depot station. I have mixed feelings on the depot and its staff. (Amtrak). I arrived, expecting to ride the surfliner from the depot to Oceanside. I have never really been on a train before. Im in my 60s with advanced cancer and trying to do somethings with my wife. I approached the amtrak counter and explained I would like to take a train ride, get off by the beach for an hour then ride back. He was extremely nice and helpful. I did not even know how to get a ticket. He actually left the counter area, showed me the ticket machine and how to use it. Then introduced me to the train personnel who Was also a great help and friendly. The trip was fantastic. The problem was not until I returned, got off the train and walked into the Sante fe depot. I walked over to the restroom (had a combo lock on the door, like many do). I approached the counter and asked a young lady if I could have the combo to use the restroom. She asked if I used the train. I said yes, i just got off and pointed to the train outside the door. She said do you have a ticket? I said yes and showed her 2 tickets (for my wife and myself ) with the receipt. She then said, im sorry, youre not allowed to use the restroom. I asked why not? She told me I need a amtrak ticket and I rode the Coaster train which is not Amtrak, but shares the depot station. The surfliner was my original intention (Amtrak) but Amtrak personnel put me on the Coaster because of the timing and goes to the same place. I hold nothing against that gentleman. He had nothing but my best interest at heart. But the young lady who denied me use of the restroom really put a bad ending to my trip. Especially when I saw a couple homeless stand by the door and wait for somebody to come out and then go in. I should have done the same thing, but I tend to follow rules. (Another case where being honest -doesn’t pay). Now I should mention the depot appears to be a clean and interesting place. There is a small place/counter to order a sandwich or soda and appeared to be well kept and clean. I wonder if I ordered a bottle of water, drank it, became a Amtrak customer, if i could have used the restroom? Or here, drink this and go to the restroom somewhere else? Maybe if I was younger, but a older gentleman like me just simply cant always wait for a restroom for very long.”

Downeast Scenic Railroad

( 16 reviews )

8 Railroad Siding, Hancock, ME 04640, United States

“This tour was so interesting! The volunteers were very nice and incredibly informative. I learned so much about the history of the area and the railways. The seats were comfortable and there are bathrooms on the train cars. There were some great Fall views, but a lot of the tour involves going through the town, so less leaf viewing than I had hoped, but the information more than made up for it. We also got to see some Osprey nests!”

“Historical landmark remember that when you see all the work that needs to be done. friendly and helpful staff .Quick and simple check in i would recommend getting there early if you want to park long term lot can get full and you may have to park outside gated area . Negative boarding was chaotic they shouted and trying to hear over all the people made it confusing on where to go and which train to board.”

“Worst service ever Amtrak is always late the conductor is rude and almost didn't let me on the train with my bike and my bike ticket they said was invalid and there was no room for it on the train and that it wouldn't fit when you can clearly see that it does wouldn't recommend you take Amtrak go with CT rail there service is better And the conductors aren't rude. I would give them 0 Stars if I could.”
