I told them many times everything I was sending was personal items, bought in the country it was being shipped to so no additional taxes should be paid then the day after posting I get an email from DHL saying I had to pay customs and VAT.. called the helpline and they were insistent I had to pay or they would withhold my belongings. Hopefully I can claim back from HMRC but made the shipping very expensive.”
