The last time I came here was 5 years ago during August, and there had been so much rainfall that flooding of the paths and fields had prevented me from walking around the lake. This time however, the weather was cold but relatively dry. It took us 2hrs to walk all the way around at a leisurely pace. Buttermere is beautiful whatever the time of year and I highly recommend visiting this gorgeous part of The Lake District.”

“Great hidden gem which you wouldn't have any clue existed as it's nicely tucked away. You park on the road that runs through the village and walk about 300 yards to the falls. As you approach you start to hear the stream and the falls start to open up. It's a spectacular sight as you can get very close. Be careful because it's slippery in places.”

“Lovely little place, The staff were all lovely too, it is a small place but the Kids were definitely entertained for about 1-2hours and they got to see animals you wouldn't normally and we witnessed the feeding of them and the staff are incredibly knowledgeable. Once we were done here we did go for a short walk to the playgrounds that are close which is great on a sunny day! It's a great place for a day out especially since you can re enter wild discovery if you want to once you're done exploring everything else”

“Quanta’s lounge is a very nice Heathrow T3 lounge, with a very premium feel and atmosphere. It’s split across two levels, with the upstairs predominantly for drinks and the downstairs more like a restaurant. The food was great, and there was a huge variety of options. You order dishes à la carte rather than buffet style, but there was also some snacks and a salad bar available if you didn’t want anything too large. The lounge had a great bar serving cocktails, wine, spirits etc. There was also a good selection of hot and cold soft drinks available if you wanted them. Overall, it’s definitely one of the nicest lounges I’ve been in, with a really lovely atmosphere and a great food selection too.”

“Fantastic location for going to the Safari park. We booked online and it was very easy. Very pleasant on arrival and clear instructions to the location of the pitch. We unfortunately didn't visit the Rustic kitchen. It smelt amazing, so my advice is to pay it a visit. Very clean and pleasant site with lovely views. The farm shop is very nice so pop in and see if it has anything for you. Certainly will be coming back. Thank you.”

“Well what can I say, after driving 2 hours to get there we arrived in a converted van and a car with family’. We were then told unless we had a bed and curtains we would not be allowed to camp. As tents are there with no bed fixed to it. But the attitude from the people were what did it for us. A curfew of 10pm to be in bed and on site. So if you like dinner and drinks don’t bother going. I”

“Really enjoyed this 13th century English manor house. It was a working farm up until a year or so ago, or a few yrs (can't remember what they told us). There are quite a few things to see here. There is a small orchard, and a trail that goes around the manor house. There might have been some longer trails too, but don't remember as we stayed to tour. What we enjoyed ourselves was trying to figure out what rooms were used for, the most interesting one being what ended up being the stalls (which I totally called since it was 'indoors' we didn't think it could be that). Another thing that you typically do not see in ruins (though this place is well preserved) is an area in which the floor beams are intact and you can actually see what a 'typical' room height was - this place has it! Usually when ruins have multiple floors available, their more overlooking grand areas that either had higher ceilings, or the floor is missing over the area you're looking down in. Being to quite a few ruins now and knowing what you're looking at is spectacular. Don't necessarily wish to have been present during that time, but would love to see it back in its glory! The staff here are lovely and we quite enjoyed the gift shop. Coffee was eh, but at least it was a cuppa!”

Everything from the toilets to the fields to the on site facilities are always pristine. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly and there is always a nice warm atmosphere. The bar and food prices are more than reasonable. I can highly recommend Hooton Lodge for a camping trip, or to host your own party or event. It really is one on its own, and if that's not enough, they have an onsite secure play area along with rides and attractions. for the kids. They've always got something going on to keep you entertained.”

“Wow words can't describe this eccentric hidden beauty. It's like a kids wonderland garden. The plots are all nice and hidden so you feel you have your own space. The toilets and showers are clean with new refurbishment coming soon by the looks of things. The staff were all lovely. There's lots for the kids, there is a communal covered seating area with a pool table which I've never seen before at a campsites and a little shop. Would definitely recommend. Slightly more expensive than others with 2 adults and hook up £36 per night. As well as a 40p per 3 minute shower.”
