Top 5 Travel & Tours in North Carolina

Fort Fisher Ferry
4.9
( 8 reviews )

1301 Ferry Rd SE, Southport, NC 28461, United States

“After a day trip to Fort Fisher, we took the Fort Fisher Ferry back to Southport to get home in Leland. It was a beautiful day for it too. The ride was great, we got to see some dolphins on the way too. Definitely worth it!!”

Corolla Wild Horse Tours
4.6
( 8 reviews )
Closed until 08:00 AM

1159 Austin St F, Corolla, NC 27927, United States

“We visited the Corolla Wild Horse Fund site in Historic Corolla, where Fran shared info for the horse tours-saying it was an experience we would always remember. We picked this tour (with guide Kyle) and it was indeed something we will remember. The horses were not on the beach, but were grazing amongst multi-million dollar houses build amongst sand dunes, and accessible only by 4 wheel drive. Kyle was a knowledgeable and excellent guide who would stop and talk to us (no loudspeakers!) and it was an experience we would not otherwise have ever had. It is a bumpy, windy ride and that was also part of the overall experience!”

Season's At Highland Lake
4.6
( 16 reviews )
Open until 08:00 PM

86 Lily Pad Ln, Flat Rock, NC 28731, United States

“The only thing bad about christmas brunch at seasons is that it has to end. And it's way too long until we treat ourselves to the next one. Worth every penny. Every dish is great and then there are some really memorable ones. Even a simple chocolate chip cookie for dessert when we were very full was an eye opener. Highly recommend their buffets!”

Concord-padgett Regional Airport
4.5
( 8 reviews )

9000 Aviation Blvd NW, Concord, NC 28027, United States

“Small and simple two gate airport. Limited destinations but down home hospitality and services. This is a great option if it works for your travels! My only complaint is they built a parking deck so now you have to pay to park!”

Juney Whank Falls
4.6
( 8 reviews )

Juney Whank Falls Trail, Bryson City, NC 28713, United States

“A nice small set of falls up a steep slope This site can be reached by 2 different methods. Our navigation app took us the more difficult way which was a rock/dirt road that went over the hill. I would suggest looking for the paved alternate route and taking that one. I highly recommend taking the well-paved part for everyone. Parking is limited in the parking lot that is at the trailhead for the falls. This location leads to several trails and at least 2 falls that are a short hike: Juney Whank and Tom Creek. Juney Whank is only about 0.2 miles but it is up a steep winding slope. There is a turnoff to the right that takes you down to a small bridge that puts you right in front of (and very close to) the falls. The falls are not really high but it is a nice view both looking up and down from the bridge. If you continue across the bridge up the trail, you will come to a divide in the trail. The one going down will take you to another set of falls (Tom Creek falls) and back to the parking area via a large and wide road. I would recommend this site for people interested in falls but a little expectation management on this. It is not a large set of falls and some visitors might be underwhelmed.”

Knotts Island - Currituck Ferry Terminal
4.7
( 8 reviews )

Ferry Dock Rd, Knotts Island, NC 27950, United States

“Amazing experience on this Ferry as always. This time we had the opportunity to get in the bridge and meet the captain. He gave us an overall view if what he does and about the boat and it was great.”

Southern Distilling Company
4.8
( 8 reviews )
Open until 06:00 PM

211 Jennings Rd, Statesville, NC 28625, United States

“Southern Distilling Company is a great place to visit! Friendly staff. I got there when they opened & got a personal tour do to I was the first visitor there. LOL. Patrick and Macy gave me a very informative tour. They are very knowledgeable & very friendly! Patrick walked me through all the samples I tried. I will say the Southern Star Double shot & Double Rye we’re my favorite! Unfortunately I can’t remember the name of the young lady who greeted me and helped me pick out items to share with family and friend. She was very friendly & helpful. The owners should be proud of what they accomplished! Great product! Excellent staff! Whether your visiting the area or need to take a break from driving, stop in and visit Southern Distilling Company! You will not be disappointed!”

Albert J Ellis Airport
4.2
( 16 reviews )

264 Albert J. Ellis Airport Rd, Richlands, NC 28574, United States

“Very easy airport to navigate due to its small size. All staff are super friendly and helpful. I wish larger airports had the character this smaller airport has. Thank you for an easy and stress-free experience.”

River Valley Campground
4.4
( 8 reviews )

2978 Big Cove Rd, Cherokee, NC 28719, United States

“I stoped to ask to drive through to evaluate campsites. They allowed it but their expressions were not friendly. Most campsites are owned by yakees. So you get the rude treatment. I always stayed at one up the river. But they are under new ownership. I rode by and noticed there were many vacant sites. Before you had to make reservations a year early. Sad to see such bad management. Regards and safe camping.”

Frisco Beach
4.9
( 8 reviews )

Frisco, NC 27936, United States

“Best beach, feels private, safe, and secure. The locals, weather, and stars make me return every year I possibly am able to! Fish right on the beach, fires on the beach, ghost crabs everywhere, sleep on the beach, it's amazing 😍 …”
