Blackwoods Campground
4.5
( 8 reviews )

155 Blackwoods Drive, Otter Creek, ME 04660, United States

“Excellent gov owned campground. We arrived at 12am on a Saturday and had no problem with our late night arrival, just had to check in by 10a that morning. The campground is clean, quiet and centrally located. All roads are paved and campsites are semi private with lots of trees surrounding each. Each campsite comes with a fire ring with a permanent grate, and a wooden picnic table. Bathrooms set around the campground, potable water throughout, dumpsters, a small amphitheater and two loops with one being for group camping. There are no showers on the grounds or sale of firewood, however, there are many places right outside of the campground promising just that. There is additional parking, spaces for tents, 5th wheels, RVs, guest parking and a dump station. We didn’t have many encounters with staff but when we did they were nice. Seems that if you are staying in the park, this is certainly is your best option in my opinion. Highly recommend.”

Closed until 03:00 PM

149 Sand Pond Rd, Sanford, ME 04073, United States

“This was my family's first time camping in Maine. The site is clean and well-kept. The actual pitched rooms are great! We ended up using the fire for most of our meals and the in-house kitchen was very appreciated for cleanup and storage. The in-house bathroom was also very appreciated as we have children. Activities were fun and the boating facilities were great. We are all looking forward to coming next year. The crepes were delicious also.”

Downeast Scenic Railroad
4.4
( 16 reviews )

8 Railroad Siding, Hancock, ME 04640, United States

“This tour was so interesting! The volunteers were very nice and incredibly informative. I learned so much about the history of the area and the railways. The seats were comfortable and there are bathrooms on the train cars. There were some great Fall views, but a lot of the tour involves going through the town, so less leaf viewing than I had hoped, but the information more than made up for it. We also got to see some Osprey nests!”

Yogi Bear's Jellystone Camp-resort: Androscoggin Lake, Me

( 8 reviews )

1 Wilson Pond Rd, North Monmouth, ME 04265, United States

“Hello, We went to the last Halloween celebration camping week, with my family it was a bunch of fun, I wished we had went a bit sooner in the month as most staff and activities seemed burnt out from the season and it being the last weekend.!? Well ya of course they wanted it be done for the year! But we didn’t need to see that as we spent a lot of money to make it special for our 4 babies! BUT we had a bunch of fun and my children and I and my husband we’re welcomed for the most part by the staff. As we should be. My husband and I were rather upset about where our campsite was,as the woman on the phone was trying to get us close to a bathroom. (We decorated our campsite as well, my husband and kids did with over 20 blowups and lights and all!) She put us way far out in the woods near the holly ball and horse shoes. Thank God I rented a golf cart because there’s no way we (I) would’ve been able to walk all around everywhere especially with my illnesses and treatment I go to every week. I did decorate my golf cart for the competition. If I had known, it was only a small amount of $50. I would’ve never spent hours on my golf cart decorating it in the cold. Online when I rented the campsite it said online in what I believed it said $100-$200 credit or gift certificate in all, I got first place in the golf cart competition!! BUT I thought with all the work I did to my cart and money that I spent I would get more the a small 50$ reward in credit… I read everything and took screen shots of the flyers for all of the Halloween amenities and It did not say any of that online… I was pretty upset and very sad and disappointed in myself for not asking sooner. (i was not the only one that felt this way at the campground.) I would not have worked so hard in the freezing cold for a 50$ credit to camp there again next year!? Disappointed and sad is a understatement to say the least. BUT we had a good time together as our family did a lot of improvising and met some pretty amazing people there,Like we do every year we go. Thank you. Hopefully next camping trip will be worth the headache!”
