“Visited this place with my Japanese husband. We sincerely recommend. The mountain trial is very long and a little scary even in winter (bear warning signs) – however beautiful. The hotel owners and family – very kind, however not officious. Their dog – absolutely fine, not too sociable, attacking or loud. The building – not very new, however carefully cleaned, warm, calm, comfortable. Food – fresh, large, nicely served; well, I never eat typical Asian dishes, but found one European-style and it was delicious; tasted like Polish pierogi z mięsem ... I'm from Poland ... what a surprise then :D The only 2 inconveniences in my opinion: Closed cabinet with futons (were decomposed only by workers and only in evenings) – I needed to take a nap immediately after arriving, without futon it was not cozy enough; but maybe I should request to open the cabinet earlier. Tap water smelling like an egg or onsen (hard for me, because I never use hot springs) – therefore during brushing teeth I used water from my own thermos. Nonetheless, we spent a really great time. Dear hosts, thank you for everything and once again: happy new year 2017!”

“Booked 3 nights for RINKAN site (normal camping site nearby the forest). During the first week of Aug, each night costed 10K JPY, which is pretty high in Japan. Overall, the camping experience was pretty bad. - Camping site is under a very steep slope and far away from the car loading zone. Very difficult to move stuffs from our car. The geographic location was bad like in a valley and made it almost 'windless' and steamy hot at 28-29C even at 9-10PM. - The stairway was not well made at RINKAN site => difficult to walk for my preschooler girl and a bit dangerous even for adult at night when it is fully dark. - WAY TOO MANY BUGS: so many mosquitos that we could barely stayed outside to cook, and even saw cockroaches 5 times during 2 days..:( Small ones but they get into our bags and on dining tables..which was pretty disgusting. I was so worried that one might get into our bags and return to our house. The staffs were unkind...overall we felt the place was 'designed' to differentiate Glamping and Camping. Glamping being their 'first class' choice while Camping being the 'economic class' which is meant to be inconvenient and less good. Despite of the high-spec restroom and dish washing place, we were so unhappy that we actually just returned home after 2 nights. If you are looking for a real Camping experience, there are lots of way better choices out there. Better natural environment and more convenient design for real campers, with also much more reasonable pricing. We are advanced campers with around 30 times experience at different places so far. I must say this was one of the least preferred place for us.”
