“Chef Mary and her daughter are quite a team! We were WOWED!! The Egusi stew with beef and groundnut soup with chicken were delicious. We were advised that the soup was spicy, and it was; but rather than being it too spicy, our senses were overjoyed by the flavors! Yum!!! If we lived in Halifax, we’d be regular customers. The space is small, so if you are planning to dine in, which we did, you may have a short wait or can share a table. You can also reserve on-line. The food is prepared to order and we waited 20 minutes which wasn’t long at all. We’d happily wait double that for Mary’s delicious food. We returned for dinner today because the food was so mouthwateringly delicious. Once again, Mary’s food is the tastiest, most flavorful we have eaten in Nova Scotia. The Grilled Chicken with black-eyed peas and lentil rice and Chicken Yassa with spinach and pumpkin seed and Jollof rice were YUMMY. Thank you!!”

However, it was cold in the middle of the restaurant being a chilly night. The artwork is beautiful and added charm to the restaurant. The service was slow. It took forever for our food to come for 7 people. We noticed people were being served their food when they arrived after us. No one came to update us on the status of our food taking so long. It was a busy night, and they may have been shirt staffed. An update would have allowed more grace for the delay. We never were asked if we wanted any more drinks. They also wanted to charge us $3.00 a person if we brought in a cake for our birthday girl. The food was the highlight. We will likely get take out if we go back again.”

“Ordered takeout tonight and realized that my sushi has brown, rotten, avocado. I understand avocados are not cheap and their perfect time of use is limited, but when you're serving food, if you have to throw out rotten avocado, you throw it out. You don't serve it to a customer inside the sushi roll hoping they won't see this. Unfortunately, this will be the last time I have gogo sushi. Serving rotten avocado is not acceptable. The saying goes, if you wouldn't eat, don't serve it. Really unfortunate. Here is to hoping I don't get too sick from this.”

The owner was friendly, literally drove two hours to the event, all with a smile and graciously upon 115 hungry wedding participants for their midnight dining table! The food was DELICIOUS, there was a ton of variety, and the attention to the little details (making sure all the meals were labelled for dietary preferences) was an excellent touch. “This spot has been super popular since it opened up in Liberty Village and it did not disappoint! The drinks are on the expensive side but are unique, I particularly liked the Sour Patch Kids drink. The interior was beautiful, dark and pretty intimate. The patio has a sizeable number of seats as well. The vibe is really nice and less crowded than it's sister restaurant, Ruby Soho. I liked that it was less chaotic and clean as well. Probably the top go to spot in Liberty Village but make sure to make a reservation as it's very popular.”
