“Having known about this restaurant since I was a child, it was a lovely treat to bring my family here for our end of year celebrations. From the outside it would be easy to miss this local gem, nestled in with the suburban landscape on the hills of Terrigal. We were pleasantly surprised with the sophisticated interiors and absolutely blown away with the coastal views. We chose the 3 course menu and every single dish was uniquely delicious, with generous servings that left everyone content. The kids menu was very generous and my daughter loved the high quality food. The service was great from our main waitress, however slightly inconsistent from the others. Overall I would highly recommend The Cowrie as the Summer menu was light, refreshing and was easily the best restaurant we have visited in years in terms of views, taste and consistency. Thank you for making our lunch so memorable.”

We also tried the soft shell crab and the lamb - both of which were beautifully cooked and packed with flavour. The spice levels are also mild. Note: They don’t do the classics (eg. spring rolls and pad Thai). Service was fast, friendly and attentive and the waitress had a very good knowledge of the menu. We paid ~$100pp including a couple of alcohol drinks each.”

The only critic is overly priced menu! $9 for butter nan which was not up to mark at all. Totally recommend the methi paratha though and their clay oven kebab items. Only going back if someone else is paying coz it’s too pricey. Avg $65 per person spent which includes only 1 alc drink and NO dessert.”

The sharing plate entree of a samosa pastry was flaky and melted on my tongue the lamb filling was Devine! The chicken tikka was beautifully cooked and seasoned along with the lamb Seekh kebab. The onion pakora was also perfectly cooked and seasoned! For mains we ordered garlic and cheese naan’s.. both with delicious flaky pastry …plus Dahl, mango chicken, Malai Kofta and Lamb Saag. All so delicious! The food sizes were generous and we took most of it home so we will both be enjoying it for another meal or 2. The service was great and Preet could not have been more helpful and friendly… highly recommend this place and we will definitely be back!!!”
